Martin Lawrence Galleries celebrates its 40th anniversary with gala, benefiting St Jude Children's Research Hospital(R)

GREENWICH, Conn., Aug. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Picasso, Chagall, Warhol, Dali, Haring, Erté and other masters of 20th century art may have never gathered together in the same room when they were alive. But, to the sheer delight of more than 150 collectors from across the United States, their masterpieces were displayed last month at the Martin Lawrence Galleries (MLG) showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada…one of 10 galleries it has across the country.

This is the fourth annual event for the nation's leading purveyor of 20th and 21st century art to assemble some of the world's finest masterworks in its spacious 27,000-square-foot gallery located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. The celebration marked MLG's 40th year serving clients and prospects alike, who viewed works alongside those of Francis, Muniz, Kondakova, Hallam, Deyber, Mas, Kostabi, Hofmann, Nichols, Lalonde, Fresinnier, Bertho and many others in a space that can only be described as a cultural wonderland.

MLG also used the opportunity to announce its support of St Jude Children's Research Hospital®, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

As part of the affiliation, MLG made a monetary and in-kind donation to St. Jude that included two pieces of art for a fundraising auction at the St. Jude "An Affair of the Art" gala next May.

"We are grateful for the support of Martin Lawrence Galleries because unlike any other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from individual contributions," said Bret Roy of ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Events like this gala help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital because all a family should worry about is helping their child live."

"We are proud of our ability to offer collectors, both veterans and first timers alike, the kind of superb artwork that can decorate their walls and their lives," said MLG President Eric Dannemann. These are truly assets that can be passed from one generation to the next, so families can enjoy them for years and years."

Dannemann added, "Holding our annual event has become a highlight of our year, and hopefully of our clients' year as well.  And to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that finds cures and saves children's lives, is outreach that makes us proud, knowing we are making a difference."
