Lucid's Connected Cities Program Gains Momentum, Connecting More Than 20 U.S. Cities and Counties in Just Four Months

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Oct 21, 2015) - DELL WORLD -- Lucid, the leader in cloud-based building management, today announced that more than 20 U.S. cities and counties -- including Orlando, FL; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Lexington, KY; Santa Monica, CA; Park City, UT; Hayward, CA, and others -- have joined Connected Cities in just the first four months since the program's launch. Connected Cities is a technology-driven program by Lucid and a Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action. The program connects municipal buildings by leveraging a combination of the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series and Lucid's BuildingOS building management software to maximize resource efficiency for a stronger and more resilient urban infrastructure.

The momentum of the Connected Cities program is testament to the growing market for IoT solutions, which IDC forecasts will grow from $1.9 trillion in 2013 to $7.1 trillion in 2020. Dell launched the new Edge Gateway 5000 Series purpose-built for the building automation sector, composed of an industrial-grade form factor, expanded input and output interfaces, and with wide operating temperature ranges. Participating Connected Cities members receive access to the Dell Edge Gateway and Lucid's BuildingOS to centralize energy and water data for their city's buildings, empowering data-driven resource decisions.
