VIQ Solutions Wins Court Modernization Contract in Serbia

MARKHAM, ON--(Marketwired - Nov. 3, 2015) - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ", "VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:VQS) is pleased to announce that the Corporation has been awarded a digital court recording modernization contract for the Serbian judiciary. The modernization project is being funded by a US-based government organization.

As part of the initial pilot phase, the customer has purchased the VIQ digital recording platform and will focus initially on the digital audio capture along with the management software and hardware for multiple courtrooms in four courthouses across Belgrade. VIQ Solutions and AVL Projekt, its Serbian-based partner, will install and support the software for the pilot phase of the project.

If the initial phase is deemed successful, the customer will continue to roll the software out to courts in other regions across Serbia. The customer has also expressed a desire to enable other components of the VIQ digital platform in the areas of video, collaboration, mobility and third party integration at a later phase.

VIQ's sophisticated security, redundancy and privacy features along with references from other large courts around the world were key criteria in the VIQ/AVL Projekt being awarded the project. The customer requires complete redundancy of the entire system to guard against human or equipment error while recording, as well as the ability to limit user access to specific features and functions based on login criteria. Judges using the system will also be able to make simultaneous private annotations during recording that cannot be view by any other operator on the system. Given the size of both the pilot project and the customer's future implementation plans, VIQ's centralized database and the ability to quickly and easily locate case files was also crucial to VIQ being selected.

"We are pleased to work with the Serbian courts and their local integrators on this important court modernization initiative," said Sebastien Paré, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "I am confident that the initial phase will unequivocally demonstrate that VIQ provides the best-of-breed solution for modern courts in Europe and around the world. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with this customer."

This project is the latest in a series of court modernization wins for VIQ Solutions, with new customer wins and significant existing customer migration projects in Canada, the US, the Middle East, Africa and Australia in 2015.

"We are definitely seeing a trend towards large-scale modernization in courts and judicial agencies around the world, with sophisticated customers moving to collaborative, mobile, video-based solutions," added Mr. Paré. "VIQ, with our suite of flexible, cutting-edge software solutions, is well-positioned to meet these sophisticated requirements for customers around the world and capitalize on this growth trend."
