Napa Valley's Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch Purchases 40-Acre Ranch with Vision to Build Northern California's First Domestic Animal Rescue and Sanctuary

Campus will be Napa Valley's First No-Kill Animal Rescue and Sanctuary for Both Farm and Companion Animals

Napa, California, Dec. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (JARR), a no-kill rescue organization in the Napa Valley dedicated to saving homeless companion and farm animals, has acquired a 40-acre ranch with the vision to build Northern California's first animal rescue and sanctuary uniquely serving all domestic animals.

The newly acquired property is located at 2965 Pope Canyon Road in St. Helena sitting atop the rolling hills of beautiful Pope Valley. The nonprofit is now working closely with a team of local talent to realize the dream of building out an animal rescue and sanctuary that will benefit the Napa community and beyond.

"Napa Valley is a world-class food and wine destination that not only draws visitors from around the world, but has a strong sense of community and assisting those in need. This spirit and ethos is also what drives JARR," said Monica Stevens, founder and managing director of Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch. "JARR is a world-class animal rescue organization exemplifying the Valley's values of quality, commitment and generosity. This is a life-changing course for so many animals, and we're immensely grateful."

Many of JARR's biggest believers are rooted in the wine industry and their support made the land acquisition possible.

"Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch is an organization that all of Napa Valley will be extremely proud of. They take a unique, solutions-based approach to rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming domestic animals of all shapes, sizes and ages," said Tim Mondavi, Winegrower, Continuum Estate. "Like many others, I feel fortunate to know David and Monica, and to be a part of this very worthwhile effort.  Our love of wine brought us together. Our love of animals and the desire to give back to our community will fuel this mission forward and make a significant difference in the lives of so many."

Plans for the intended rescue and sanctuary include:

Saving animals through adoption- The Ranch will provide a place where animals will be medically and emotionally rehabilitated so they can realize their full potential and become great pets.  JARR is committed to using the best practices in animal nutrition, behavioral interventions, socialization and medicine.

Cage-free living for all animals in residence - Quality of life consists of the freedom to range and roam--be it a dog, cat, pig, horse or cow. The JARR rescue and sanctuary will exist to protect and rehab each animal in an environment that will bring out one's true personality in order to realize the greatest potential for adoption.

State-of-the-art veterinary care and equipment - Much of the current, critical fundraising efforts will center upon the ability to invest in state-of-the art equipment and facilities to better serve and treat animals. The goal is to not only provide top care to furry residents at the ranch, but to also grant visiting vets and other rescue partners the ability to use special equipment to heal any animal in need (such as a hydrotherapy pool for farm animals and equine).

Sanctuary - Most of the animals that come to JARR will ultimately be adopted; but for some, Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch will be their final home wherein they will be protected, loved and cared for the rest of their lives.

Children's programs- Children and animals have a very special relationship. From volunteer opportunities to pet therapy programs, kids of all ages will be an instrumental part of the sanctuary. This venture is intended to serve and benefit both sides.

Ongoing education for all - JARR is committed to staying educated and on top of the latest best practices and implementing them at the Ranch. In addition, the JARR team will spread the good word to assist other organizations in staying abreast of the latest developments, as well.

While the campus will allow the organization to do more, JARR is already contributing to animals' well being with:

Fostering  - In cases where an animal has been abandoned, or surrendered by its owner, JARR commits a compassionate, secure, temporary place for an animal to land. For the loving foster families who help JARR foster animals prior to the ranch being established, the organization provides food, beds, vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm medication, and medical care for all its foster animals.

Emergency Fund - JARR is dedicated to helping responsible pet owners keep their pets.  Calls are taken every day from people who need assistance with vet bills, behavioral interventions, pet food and even landlord deposits.  JARR has identified these are reasons people surrender their pets and is dedicated to mitigating reasons that can cause pet owners to have to surrender their animals.

Added Stevens: "This rescue and sanctuary is much bigger than just Napa - it's really a dream come true for all of Northern California. We're at the very beginning of this journey, and the effort will require the interest and attention of our family everywhere. From philanthropy to volunteers, it truly takes a village to create a world-class facility for animals of all kinds. Thanks to amazing support from the local and national community, we have made a huge leap forward in realizing this vision."

JARR has raised more than $1.5 million dollars since its founding less than two years ago. Its annual event - WineaPAWlooza - is recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the top wine auctions in the nation and has raised a majority of its funds in just two events.  WineaPAWLooza 2016 is slated for July 23rd at Gamble Family Winery + Vineyards in Oakville.

In addition to supporters' immense charitable giving, several professionals in the Napa Valley real estate and development community have been at the forefront of this project.  Those involved in JARR's future campus include: Katie Somple, Lifestyle Properties; Marie Brauning, the Brauning Company; Tim McDonald, Centric General Contractors; Chuck Covell and Michelle Liu, Covell Architects; Mike Muelrath, Applied Civil Engineering and Jon Webb, Albion Surveys.
