COPsync Announces COURTsync™ to Improve Courthouse Security

Benefits of COPsync911™ Threat-Alert System Now Available to Judges and Courts

DALLAS, Jan. 22, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ:COYN), which operates the nation’s largest law enforcement real-time, in-car information sharing, communication and data interoperability network, announces COURTsync™, which provides a higher level of courthouse protection and efficiency and includes the features of the COPsync911™ threat-alert system and the WARRANTsync® module, which permits law enforcement officers to access the Company’s Class C warrant database. COURTsync is initially available for county, municipal and Justice of the Peace (JP) courts in Texas.

COURTsync provides security to judges and court personnel via a GPS-enabled mobile and desktop application. With COURTsync, courts may also increase their efficiency and productivity through real-time information among subscribing courts and law enforcement officers, as well as having 24/7/365 access to the Company’s Class C warrant database.

Ronald A. Woessner, CEO of COPsync, said, “We live in dangerous times. Two law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty just a few weeks into the year. The media constantly reports horrific acts of violence and the federal government’s watch list of known or suspected terrorists purportedly numbers approximately 1.1 million persons -- which is approximately the same number of U.S. law enforcement officers. These pressing dangers require heightened protection for our judiciary. As guardians of the law, they are potential targets. Keeping our judges, jurors and courthouses safer should be a national priority. The threat-alert features of the COURTsync system provide additional means to protect the security of the country’s judicial operations.”

COURTsync provides an enhanced level of protection and effectiveness via several features:

  • In the event of a courthouse threat, a panic alert, activated via Microsoft Windows court computers or mobile devices of the judge or court personnel, is linked directly to the five geographically closest officers in their patrol cars.

  • Informs the 9-1-1 dispatch center of the activated threat-alert simultaneously while informing the closest patrol officers and allows unified communication among the court, officers, 9-1-1 dispatch center, EMS and fire department.

  • Ability to query federal law enforcement databases and dangerous persons databases.

About COPsync, Inc.

COPsync, Inc. (COYN) is a technology company that improves communication between and among law enforcement officers and agencies from differing jurisdictions to help them prevent and respond more quickly to crime. The COPsync Network™ connects law enforcement officers and agencies to a common communications system, which gives officers instant access to actionable, mission-critical data and enables them to share information and communicate in real-time with other officers and agencies, even those hundreds and thousands of miles away. The Network's companion, COPsync911™ threat-alert system, enables schools, courts, hospitals, government buildings, energy, telecommunications and other potentially at-risk facilities to automatically and silently send threat-alerts directly to local law enforcement officers in their patrol cars in the event of a crisis, thereby speeding first responder response times and saving minutes when seconds count. The COPsync Network saves officer and citizen lives, reduces unsolved crimes and assists in apprehending criminals and interdicting criminal behavior -- through such features as a nationwide officer safety alert system, GPS/auto vehicle location and distance-based alerts for crimes in progress, such as school crisis situations, child abductions, bank robberies and police pursuits. The COPsync Network also eliminates manual processes and increases officer productivity by enabling officers to write electronic tickets, accident reports, DUI forms, arrest forms and incident and offense reports. The company also sells VidTac®, an in-vehicle, software-driven video system for law enforcement. Visit www.copsync.com and www.copsync911.com for more information.
