Dreamit Event Connects Healthcare Industry Leaders with High-Potential Disrupters
AUSTIN, Texas, March 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Leading global startup accelerator Dreamit brought acceleration to SXSW today, presenting three high-impact sessions in Startup Village: “Mind the Gap: Getting From Seed to Series A,” “Keys to Quickly and Efficiently De-Risk Your Startup,” and “How to Get Great Customer Feedback.” The presentations followed Saturday’s Healthcare Happy Hour & Alumni Showcase.

Led by Savar, Chief Innovation Officer Steve Barsh, Chief Investment Officer Karen Griffith Gryga, and other members of the Dreamit team, the Startup Village presentations reflected insights from the proven Dreamit curriculum, particularly aimed at helping seed stage companies scale in preparation for raising their next capital round in an increasingly crowded field.
In “Mind the Gap,” Savar addressed the Series A funding gap:
“Getting to A has never been more difficult. Even though the total amount of available capital has increased by over 60% in the last 8 years, the total number of VC deals has basically stayed the same, making the gap from seed to A infinitely more challenging than in previous years. We have found that more than ever, capital follows momentum which follows customers. Entrepreneurs need access to marquis customers early in their lifeycle if they want to differentiate themselves from the pack.”
Prior to today’s Startup Village presentations, Dreamit on Saturday hosted a Happy Hour & Alumni Showcase in the MedTech Expo for nearly 400 attendees at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
