FULLERTON, CA--(Marketwired - March 28, 2016) - More than 240 high-achieving students recently were honored at Nicolas Junior High School's inaugural Mega Awards. Members of the Medieval Times Royal Court attended the ceremony as part of its Partners in Education Program. Medieval Times' king and knights recognized students who had demonstrated excellence in academics, character and attendance.
"The Knight is our school mascot so it was fitting to invite Medieval Times Royal Court," said Principal Rudy Torres.
"This school year marks a turning point for Nicolas Junior High," added Torres, who was appointed the new principal in August 2015. "Our students, parents, and teachers all have committed themselves to help transform our school into an example of behavioral and academic excellence."
"We've all worked hard this year to take the performance of our student community to a higher level, and it shows in the results. I am so proud of our kids," said Katerina Sorrell, the Nicolas school counselor in charge of organizing the event. "We greatly appreciate the generosity of Medieval Times' Partners in Education Program for supporting our efforts to reward our students for their commitment to success."
