MobileHelp(R) Announces Telehealth Solution for Healthcare Providers

New Solution Provides Long-Term Telehealth Services With Robust Clinical Dashboard to Optimize Patient Care Transitions and Medical Oversight

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - May 18, 2016) - Offering healthcare providers a more comprehensive solution. MobileHelp®, an industry leader in mobile medical alert technology, today announced a new telehealth platform to address the need for consistent short- and long-term patient monitoring in the marketplace.

Created initially as a step-down health monitoring solution for patients moving through the care continuum, MobileHelp will now be offering its MobileVitals telehealth solution to the healthcare provider channel, in combination with clinical dashboard options for enhanced patient oversight.

The new platform will give healthcare providers the capability to provide their patients with the benefits of traditional remote patient monitoring services for the reimbursable home health period, using a combination of the company's MobileVitals telehealth solution with third party clinical dashboards.

Following the reimbursable period, patients will have the opportunity to keep the telehealth equipment and shift to monitoring their own vital signs -- allowing healthcare providers to essentially step out of the clinical care process -- while giving patients the opportunity to engage more fully in their own care.

In pilot programs with healthcare providers, MobileHelp has found that patients who are being monitored under traditional telehealth structure are ideally suited for this blended type of solution. The basic clinical knowledge patients receive during the 30 to 90 day home health period while using the MobileVitals system (includes weight scale, blood pressure cuff and pulse oximeter), provide a natural transition to self-monitoring.

"We routinely hear from healthcare providers that after the reimbursable window of time has expired, patients become anxious about losing the continuous medical oversight they experience when they are monitored by clinicians," said Rob Flippo, CEO of MobileHelp. "Our solution gives patients the opportunity to keep the telehealth equipment on a private pay basis and continue self-monitoring their own health on a long-term basis -- while still providing them with the "oversight" of emergency help if they need it."

The MobileVitals solution -- which includes a third party clinical dashboard for healthcare providers to utilize -- also incorporates inter-operable peripherals, the MobileHelp Connect online portal, the cellular base station and/or the M-PERS application for smartphone. The whole system is designed to seamlessly integrate and update, while also providing the peace-of-mind emergency response function associated with automatic fall detection:

  • Clinical Dashboard: MobileHelp recently partnered with TouchPointCare, a Chicago-based care management and communication software provider, to offer healthcare providers a robust clinical dashboard solution. The new remote monitoring application includes the TouchPointCare clinical dashboard and provides clinicians with a flexible case management tool for managing patients by exception, easily scaling to any patient population size.
  • Cellular Base Station: The cellular base station (for use in the home) allows customers to have access to emergency help and serves as the home health hub for self-test medical devices (blood pressure, weight scale, and pulse oximeter). Data collected from the base station is synced with MobileHelp Connect, an online consumer-facing portal.
  • MobileHelp Connect: Consumers and care givers can easily access MobileVitals data online or through the corresponding mobile app. Data from the peripherals can be viewed in graph format for selected periods of time -- daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.
  • MobileVitals Peripherals: Biometric peripherals initially available through MobileVitals include: a BLE weight scale, BLE blood pressure cuff, BLE pulse oximeter, and a BLE glucometer.

"Research has demonstrated that utilization of telehealth technology is effective for keeping people healthy and out of the hospital in the long-term," said Chris A. Otto, SVP Healthcare Division for MobileHelp. "MobileVitals will now give healthcare providers the ability to offer a more comprehensive telehealth program, leveraging the benefits associated with traditional clinical oversight, while empowering patients with the ability to conduct their own long-term monitoring."

MobileHelp will now be offering its platform directly to the healthcare provider channel, initially through home health agencies.
