Telguard Announces First Universal LTE Communicator for the AT&T Network

Telguard’s TG-1 Express LTE-A Ensures Longevity Well Beyond the 2G Sunset

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (ESX Booth #220) -- Telguard, a leader in wireless alarm communications, interactive and home automation services, today expanded its portfolio with the announcement of the first universal LTE communicator for the AT&T network. The new TG-1 Express LTE-A also delivers upload/download capabilities when installed with the GE/Interlogix Concord and Concord Express panels enabling remote panel management and configuration.

The TG-1 Express LTE-A supports virtually all alarm formats using dial capture for universal panel compatibility. A universally compatible communicator gives installers the flexibility to proceed with a quick installation regardless of the existing panel encountered at a site. This capability is critical in the case of upgrades and takeovers, as well as essential to the growth and longevity of a security dealer’s business. In addition, the TG-1 Express LTE-A falls back to the 3G/4G network in the event that the LTE network is not available, for extended network coverage.

The flagship communicator also supports the RMR-boosting HomeControl Flex™ interactive solution. HomeControl Flex allows homeowners to remotely arm and disarm their system, and the ability to view cameras. Furthermore, HomeControl Flex allows end users to integrate hundreds of smart home products such as the Amazon Echo, SkyBell HD and web services, with their security system using the free Internet of Things (IoT) services of IFTTT.

“At Telguard, we continue to innovate and deliver technologies that enhance a security dealer’s product and service portfolio,” said Shawn Welsh, SVP Product Line Management and Marketing, Telular Corporation. “This year in particular it is our mission to ensure that dealers have the longest lasting products in order to protect their customers and their RMR not only from the upcoming 2G Sunset but also from future technology sunsets. The TG-1 Express LTE-A accomplishes this, and also offers HomeControl Flex and video with the Arlo wireless video system integration, to help facilitate the upgrade sale to end-users.”

Small enough to fit in an installer’s back pocket, the TG-1 Express LTE-A uses the power and backup battery of the security panel eliminating the need for an available wall outlet. The unit also features a unique way to connect to the panel for instances when the communicator needs to be installed remotely. The Single Line Interface Cable (SLIC) allows the power and telephony connection to be sent over a single CAT5 cable, similar to how computer networks use Power over Ethernet (PoE). With the SLIC option installers can remotely mount the TG-1 Express LTE-A without being limited by the availability of power or the expense of an RF cable run.

Like all Telguard cellular alarm communicators, the TG-1 Express LTE-A is eligible for Telguard’s Upgrade Incentive Program. Every time existing 2G hardware from any manufacturer is upgraded with the TG-1 Express LTE-A, a dealer can receive up to $25. In addition, TG-1 Express LTE-A activations apply to the volume price discounts offered to Telguard Advantage Program (TAP) dealers.

The TG-1 Express LTE-A will be available through security distributors in the U.S. and Canada in early July. The Telguard TG-1 Express LTE-A, and all Telguard products and services, will be on display at ESX 2016, June 8-10 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth, TX in Telguard’s booth #220.
