Emerging Markets Report: Wal-Mart Lowers the Elevation and Increases Possibilities for Drones

Wal-Mart Testing Drone Use in Company Warehouses

ORLANDO, Fla., June 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, news was released in Forbes that mighty Wal-Mart is testing drones in its warehouses as a hyper-efficient means to monitor inventory. According to the report, “The drones capture images — up to 30 pictures a second — in real time and mark missing items for inventory. The drones can check a full warehouse inventory in about a day, a process that can take a full month if done manually.” Source: http://bit.ly/1tt8uTB

It’s a tremendously interesting approach to the ever-growing corporate affection for drone technology, one that usually involves discussions of a drone fleet hitting the open air, dropping off packages or performing other services. Uniquely, Wal-Mart wants to use them INSIDE their stores.  According to Wal-Mart, the Company operates over 5,000 stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. One can only imagine the possibilities if the practice is successful and were to expand to major big box stores like Target, Lowe's, Home Depot and more. Efficiency is indeed always in demand.

Perhaps most importantly, even if the Wal-Mart test were to fail, is that it further broadens the possibilities for the drone industry. What more can unmanned drones do to enhance business and life at large? Are we just at the beginning of conceiving their uses??

Valmie Resources (OTC:VMRI) and its joint venture partner -- AeroLift eXpress – announced last week that it had met with its drone hardware manufacturer in Arizona to discuss delivery timetables and the process for scheduling an initial order for their own drone business model which looks to off-shore uses. According to a recent press release, the company continues to build momentum, introducing its groundbreaking drone-based delivery platform to the offshore community. Moreover, AeroLift recently made another successful presentation to a world leading subsea operations company, the next in a series of meetings designed to establish AeroLift in the field of offshore transport. For the record, AeroLift’s unmanned aerial transport service has the capacity to deliver payloads of up to 14 pounds at an operating radius of 250 miles.

It’s clearly just the beginning for drones, as imaginations and innovation race to the next technological intersection… whether it’s under one of Wal-Mart's many warehouse roofs or above the oceans near the coast.
