The John Marshall Law School Hires New Public Affairs Director


CHICAGO, July 7, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The John Marshall Law School in Chicago has hired Jill Schachner Chanen as its new director of public affairs. She will oversee the law school's public relations and promotions efforts.

"With her breadth of experience and her knowledge of the national legal landscape, I'm confident in Jill and her ability to amplify the impact of John Marshall's good works," says Michael Huggins, director of marketing and communications.  

Before joining John Marshall, Chanen was assistant managing editor and director of events for the ABA Journal Magazine of the Chicago-based American Bar Association. She also was a writer for Chicago Lawyer Magazine and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Chanen also has worked as a freelance promotional and marketing writer for a variety of local and national law firms and businesses as well as contributor to a variety of newspapers, magazines and websites including The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, Hemispheres, Time Out Chicago and Chicago Magazine.
She holds a JD from Loyola University of Chicago and a MSJ from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She also received her BA from Northwestern.

Chanen has been an adjunct professor of journalism at Columbia College Chicago and Roosevelt University in Chicago.
