Arduino Partners with Leroy Merlin Brazil to Bring Developers Together

Focus on Smart Home Applications: Making Products to Save our Precious Water


San Jose, CA, July 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Arduino, the world’s leading open-source ecosystem for Education, Maker and IoT markets, today announced it is partnering with Leroy Merlin, a leading player in the DIY market, giving developers a chance create products to solve world’s water problems.

On July 16-17, Leroy Merlin Brazil will host a DIY Hackathon, offering developers access to Arduino UNO WiFi boards and open source software along with other DIY tools, to prototype products based on the theme Sustainable Homes: Saving Our Water.

The first ever Arduino board, the Arduino UNO has more tutorials and projects shared online than any other Arduino product. The added WiFi connectivity allows the platform to be deployed in a variety of locations, indoors or out, and connect to the Internet through local WiFi access points. The Arduino UNO WiFi is for beginner and advanced users, and is based on the ATmega328 and has an integrated ESP8266 WiFi module. The suggested retail price is $37.
