United States and United Kingdom Attorney Hourly Rate Report 2017 - Associate Rates by Class Year, Highest Rate Increases Since 2008-2009

Dublin, July 20, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Attorney Hourly Rate Report 2017" report to their offering.

The Attorney Rate Report 2017 is the most in-depth look at Attorney hourly rates for large, middle-market and small Law Firms in the United States and the UK. The report details the hourly rates of Partners, Counsel, Associates and Support Staff for 2011 - 2016 and forecasts 2017 rates.

2016 - 2017 is and will be an important year for hourly rates especially for associates who have taken the brunt of the recessionary downward pricing spiral but now stand to benefit with the largest hourly rate increases since 2008 - 2009. Additionally, a dichotomy can be seen in litigation work: 1) high-stakes litigation where pricing is high and may include performance bonuses and success fees and 2) bulk RFP type work that is packaged and sold by large Corporate Counsel to the lowest bidder. So, we have opposing pricing forces at work: high premium versus bargain discounting. See more in Sections 1 and 2.

Upcoming Revisions: In order to meet client deadlines, this report is being published on time and also notifying them of the following upcoming revisions: 1) Due to the size of the report, a much more condensed summary of overall average rates will be provided by firm and 2) Magic Circle (MC) and Silver International (SI) Firms, i.e., large UK-based firms have always been included in the Non-AMLAW ranks but the growth in their rates and the comprehensive capture of those rates by the research team has skewed the Non-AMLAW rankings so the MC and SI rates will be pulled out from the Non-AMLAW rates and present separately.
