Informatica Launches ‘Pay As You Go’ Cloud Offerings Available in AWS Marketplace

Hourly Consumption of Informatica Cloud for Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora or Amazon DynamoDB Enables Rapid Innovation

Redwood City, Aug. 10, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Informatica, the world’s No. 1 provider of data management solutions, today announced five new Informatica Cloud offerings at an affordable hourly price, as well as by annual subscription, available in Amazon Web Services Marketplace (AWS Marketplace). Informatica developed these offerings to help organizations of all sizes quickly and cost-effectively jumpstart data management projects on AWS, enabling them to benefit from rapid innovation, agility and cloud economies. Customers can now take advantage of Informatica’s world-class technology for connecting and integrating data at scale, as well as the cost-effective, scalable and secure AWS Cloud, all within a pay-as-you-go model with no need for upfront commitments or capacity planning.

The new offerings from Informatica in AWS Marketplace include a 15 day free trial. They provide a quick on-ramp for deploying and managing enterprise-class data management solutions spanning across AWS, SaaS (Software as a Service) applications and on-premises systems. Informatica solutions for AWS address customer needs ranging from SaaS application integration, to optimization of data warehouses, to big data analytics all the way through ensuring reliable data about customers, products, suppliers, and locations.

These Informatica Cloud offerings are pre-built packages for quick time-to-value for customers looking to fast-track cloud data management initiatives. For example, customers can quickly kick start a new Amazon Redshift data warehouse project and use Informatica Cloud Connector for Amazon Redshift to load it with meaningful connected data from cloud sources such as Salesforce.com or on-premises sources such as relational databases -- all within hours, not months.

Informatica Cloud offerings in AWS Marketplace also help customers rapidly innovate with additional key data services such as Amazon Simple Storage Services (Amazon S3), Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Aurora. Informatica Cloud can help customers quickly harness these as data sources for Amazon Redshift or manage them as part of other important hybrid environment, such as data migration from on-premises databases to Amazon Aurora or Amazon RDS, loading Internet of Things (IoT) data to Amazon S3 for staging or storage and loading of unstructured data, such as log files, to Amazon DynamoDB. Informatica Cloud can also play a key role in helping organizations integrate applications across hybrid environments, including applications running on AWS, in SaaS and on-premise.

Education Elements

“Education Elements delivers a personalized learning platform for  schools, teachers and students, encompassing a multitude of student information systems, learning management systems and digital content providers.” Education Elements, a “pure cloud” solution running on AWS, uses Informatica Cloud Salesforce connector, PowerCenter on AWS, Informatica Identity Resolution on AWS and Informatica Cloud Real Time application integration. “We needed to quickly onramp new partners and education content providers, but were faced with time-consuming point-integrations that were taxing our limited resources,” said Ray Rozycki, vice president of Education Product, Education Elements. “Deploying Informatica’s integration solutions with AWS has enabled us to reduce the time to integrate new digital content from two to three months to only two weeks, a 60-70 percent improvement in time to market.”

SendGrid

SendGrid’s customer communication platform delivers transactional and marketing email for some of your favorite brands, including Uber, Yelp, Airbnb and Spotify. “We’re analyzing the performance of more than 27 billion emails a month--we needed the ability to quickly and reliably scale to support our continued growth while ensuring that we could remain nimble, efficient and cost effective with a resource-constrained IT staff and no dedicated DBA,” said Amy Anthony, director of enterprise data operations, SendGrid. “We utilized Informatica and Amazon Redshift to deploy a new hybrid data warehouse architecture that enables us to quickly integrate data from multiple sources in cloud and on-prem. As result, we have built an agile, scalable and cost effective solution that delivers data insights to inform rapid decision making and will also support additional self-service integration scenarios by ‘citizen integrators’ such as business analysts and SaaS end-users. Informatica and AWS enable us to unlock our data to power business success.”

 Blue Hill Research

"Hybrid cloud is the future of enterprise data management," states Hyoun Park, chief research officer, Blue Hill Research. "Blue Hill believes that Informatica's combination of enterprise-grade data management, experience across on-premise and cloud integration, and the ability to quickly augment specific data services on a per-hour basis greatly accelerates the enterprise's capability to gain insights from the Big Data value chain. By selectively increasing and decreasing data workload capacity based on actual demand, Informatica clients are well positioned to focus on business execution rather than constantly investing in and implementing business infrastructure."

 AWS

“AWS Marketplace is designed to transform, accelerate, and simplify software procurement and deployment for customers, while reducing costs and ensuring customers only pay for the software they use,” said Dave McCann, vice president, AWS Marketplace and Catalog Services, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “With these new products available in AWS Marketplace, Informatica’s commitment to help customers migrate to AWS Cloud at the pace and flexibilitythat meets their business needs is clearly demonstrated by leveraging our new AWS Marketplace Metering Service to offer customers broader choices of pricing dimension.”

 Informatica

“Agility, speed-to-market and flexibility are key to successful adoption of the cloud. In addition, the need to support hybrid infrastructures is increasing,” said Ronen Schwartz, senior vice president and general manager of cloud operations at Informatica. “To meet customer needs, Informatica is optimizing our portfolio to provide solutions that feature pre-built interoperability with AWS for every use case along their cloud journey, including lift and shift, hybrid cloud and on-premise integration, cloud data warehousing and large scale analytics.”
