Resy Continues to Power a New Customer-Restaurant Paradigm

The reservation and waitlist system enters new markets

NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Resy, the restaurant technology platform used by hundreds of award-winning restaurants around the country, continues its rapid expansion across the United States. In the past twelve months, Resy has expanded into almost 30 markets across the country while seating more than three million diners. Before the end of 2016, Resy will expand its footprint into new markets including Denver, Boulder, Austin, Houston and Seattle; these markets join New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Washington DC, Charleston and others.

Resy CEO and co-founder Ben Leventhal explains, “Restaurant technology is in a period of rapid change and advancement, following a decade of stagnation, characterized by few players and lack of innovation. Finally, the future of restaurant technology looks very bright!”

Built ‘by restaurants for restaurants’, Resy challenges longstanding reservation tools like OpenTable, disrupting the status quo created by clunky, expensive reservation services. Resy is using technology to redefine hospitality by offering a cutting edge real-time cloud-based system with flat pricing, resetting industry expectations about how much value restaurants should expect from technology partners. Resy’s Hospitality Board, which includes representatives from the best hospitality companies in the world, works in close consultation with the Resy team as they build features like Notify, a real-time fully automated waiting list; live text messaging between host stand and guests; and ResyPay, a fully integrated paperless check payment system.

"We are extremely happy with the move to Resy,” states Adam Nemirow, partner and co-owner of Charleston’s FIG and The Ordinary restaurants. “The guest feedback has been excellent, and the efficiency, cost and function of the platform is perfect for our needs.”

Michael Shemtov, restaurateur behind Butcher & Bee, with locations in Nashville and Charleston adds, “The level of control Resy gives us as operators to welcome as many guests as possible by activating or deleting reservation slots on the fly is incredible.”

Just two years old, Resy seats 200,000 diners per week at nearly 500 restaurants, with a 5.1% global no-show rate, an industry low. Consumers can download the Resy app for free, available on both iOS and Android, to make and change reservations, pay their check, and manage their dining profiles. Partner restaurants include Estela, Pasquale Jones, Charlie Bird, Spotted Pig, Sushi Seki, and Hillstone (NYC), Chez Panisse, Atelier Crenn, and Petit Crenn (San Francisco), Animal, Son of a Gun, and Jon & Vinny’s (Los Angeles), FIG, The Ordinary, Little Jack’s Tavern, and Le Farfalle (Charleston), and The Dabney (DC).

Resy was co-founded by Ben Leventhal, cofounder of Eater and restaurant industry entrepreneur; Gary Vaynerchuk, an entrepreneur, investor, author; and Michael Montero, founder of CrowdTwist and Fotolog and noted CTO. Resy’s investors and partners include VaynerRSE, Lerer Ventures, A-Grade Holdings (Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary), and Slow Ventures (Dave Morin and Kevin Colleran).
