German American Bancorp, Inc. (GABC) receives multiple national recognitions for financial performance


JASPER, Ind., Aug. 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- German American Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:GABC), headquartered in Jasper, IN, with 51 offices throughout the southern Indiana region, has received national recognition for its 2015 financial performance including Bank Director’s Bank Performance Scorecard, S&P Global Market Intelligence 100 top-performing banks, KBW Bank Honor Roll, Raymond James Community Bankers Cup, and American Banker’s annual ranking of top community banks.

Bank Director Magazine awarded German American Bancorp, Inc. the second highest performance spot in the nation among the bank’s peers in their annual Bank Performance Scorecard. The Scorecard uses five key metrics that measure profitability, capitalization and asset quality and rewards banks that are well-balanced among all three measurements with a slight-bias towards profitability. The S&P Global Market Intelligence ranked German American Bancorp, Inc. among the nation’s top 100 performing banks in the $1 billion to $10 billion asset size category. S&P Global Market Intelligence ranked the best-performing community banks using six core financial performance metrics that focus on profitability, asset quality and growth for the 12-month period ended Dec. 31, 2015.

KBW Bank Honor Roll recognizes banking institutions nationwide that achieved positive earnings per share growth trends over the last decade, regardless of the economic environment. German American Bancorp, Inc. has been named on the KBW honor roll list each consecutive year since 2010.

The Raymond James Community Bankers Cup awards recognize the top 10% of community banks in the nation based on profitability, operational efficiency, and balance sheet metrics. This is the fourth year for the Community Bankers Cup awards and German American Bancorp, Inc. has received this award for the past four consecutive years.

German American Bancorp, Inc. was also ranked number 18 out of 217 banks which qualified for national recognition in the American Banker’s annual ranking of top mid-tier community banks. This is the fourth consecutive year the bank has earned this recognition by American Banker.
