Konecranes Plc’s Nomination and Compensation Committee's proposal for new members of the Board of Directors

As announced in notice to the Extraordinary General Meeting of Konecranes Plc on July 15, 2016, the Nomination and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors proposes to the General Meeting to be held on September 15, 2016, that two new members of the Board of Directors be elected for a term of office ending at the closing of the Annual General Meeting in 2017.

The Committee proposes that Ms. Janina Kugel and Mr. Ulf Liljedahl be elected as new members of the Board.

M.Sc. (Econ.) Janina Kugel, b. 1970, has been Chief Human Resources Officer and Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG since 2015.  Ms. Kugel joined Siemens in 2001 and has held various executive positions in human resource management and business development in Germany, Italy and China. In 2012-2013, she was Chief Human Resources Officer of OSRAM.

B.Sc. (Econ.) Ulf Lijedahl, b. 1965, has been the President and CEO of Volito AB since 2015. Mr. Liljedahl has extensive experience from executive positions in finance and general management from Husqvarna, Cardo and Alfa Laval.

Both candidates are independent of both the company and its major shareholders.

The Committee’s aim is to see to that the number of the directors and the composition of the board shall make it possible for the Board to discharge its duties in an efficient manner. The composition shall take into account the needs of the company’s operations and the development stage of the company.

Both candidates have given their consent to the election.
