Critical Alert Features Latest Nurse Call Software Enhancements at HIMSS17 Conference

New Mobile Staff Terminal Extends Staff Station Functionality to Mobile Computers, Smartphones, Tablets & Wall-Mounted Touchscreens

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HIMSS17 Conference -- Critical Alert Systems, a leading provider of nurse call solutions for hospitals and health systems, today announced it will be featuring its new Mobile Staff Terminal and other software enhancements at the HIMSS17 Conference being held this February 19-23, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. Critical Alert Systems is in Booth #4479 in the Orange County Convention Center.

“By developing and utilizing a software-centric design architecture, our unique nurse call system provides hospitals and healthcare organizations with seamless integration capabilities to third-party systems and devices without the need for middleware, while increasing flexibility, functionality and features with lower TCO,” stated April Hjort, vice president of R&D for Critical Alert.

About Nurse Call Mobile Staff Terminal
The new Mobile Staff Terminal is now included as a standard component of Critical Alert’s Nurse Call System, and will enable hospitals and healthcare organizations to port staff station functionality to devices connected to a hospital’s network such as mobile computers, smartphones, tablets, or wall-mounted touchscreen devices. The Mobile Staff Terminal provides caregivers and other staff with the mobility and flexibility to review requests & messages, complete workflow tasks, cancel alarms, create ad-hoc tasking, track rounding progress or run-through reminders on any communication device connected to their hospital’s network. Mobile Staff Terminal then automatically updates Critical Alert’s Nurse Call system tracking, reporting, and workflow statistics to reflect the latest status.

The company will also debut its new NTII Call Answer Terminal (Mini-CAT), a more compact version of its Graphical Call Answer Terminal (Nurse Master Station). The Mini-CAT is a touchscreen device for unit secretaries or centralized attendants to use to triage nurse call requests. Designed to take up less space on crowded workstations, the NTII Mini-CAT helps streamline the communication flow between patient and caregiver, allowing faster response time to patient requests.
