Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Announces New Advisory Council Member


ATLANTA, March 21, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) announced today that it has appointed Felicia Watkins-Jackson as its newest member of the Affordable Housing Advisory Council.

Felicia Watkins-Jackson is the executive director of the Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. (ARCH). Mrs. Jackson has deep expertise in the HUD Continuum of Care process, FEMA Disaster Case Management, affordable housing and community development, as well as a strong track record of developing successful collaborations among government, housing developers, private sector, nonprofit, and community partners. As the director of the Alabama Balance of State Continuum of Care (HUD AL-507), Mrs. Jackson serves as the gatekeeper for 42 counties within the State of Alabama, providing housing and supportive services to low-income homeless or at-risk of homelessness individuals and families. As the leading liaison for the agency, Mrs. Jackson is solely responsible for the administrative and fiscal management of several HUD-funded programs. She also serves as the Homelessness Committee co-chair of the governor-established Alabama Executive Veterans Network (AlaVetNet) and vice president for the Alabama Alliance to End Homelessness. Her educational studies include degrees in communications and public relations from Alabama State University and numerous professional certifications in nonprofit management, construction and rehab, and housing counseling.

FHLBank Atlanta’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council comprises 15 representatives from a diverse group of community and nonprofit organizations actively involved in providing or promoting low- and moderate-income housing and community lending within FHLBank Atlanta’s district.
