Juniata Valley Financial Corp. Announces Promotions and New HIres


Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, April 04, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Juniata Valley Financial Corp. (OTC Pink: JUVF), parent company of The Juniata Valley Bank, announces that recently the Bank promoted two officers to senior vice president levels and hired three individuals in key roles.

Jeremiah (Jerry) Trout has been promoted to Senior Vice President of the Lending Division. Mr. Trout joined the Bank in June 2016 as a Vice President/Lending Officer, with a focus on Commercial Lending.  Mr. Trout has 20 years of experience in the region with over 13 of those years in banking.  He is based at the Bank’s regional office at 1 South Main Street, Mifflintown, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Trout was previously employed by Omega Bank in 2007 which was acquired by The First National Bank of Pennsylvania in 2008.  Prior to joining Omega as a Credit Analyst, Jerry worked for Ag Choice Farm Credit where he was responsible for credit analysis, portfolio management and lending. Jerry gained a strong appreciation for Agriculture by working in various capacities at Trout Brothers Dairy Farm in Blain, Pennsylvania and as a Dairy Nutritionist for Land O Lakes Purina Mills in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Trout earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business Management from Delaware Valley University. Since that time, he has completed numerous Risk Management Association (RMA), PA Bankers, and Franklin Covey courses along with a variety of agricultural and sales courses and seminars. 

Community involvement is extensive, as Mr. Trout has served on the Downtown Lewistown, Inc. Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the Huntingdon County Chamber Board.  In the past, he has served on the Huntingdon County Chamber Executive, Government Affairs, and Development Committees; Sacred Heart School Business Development Committee; Committee Chairperson of Kiwanis Club of Juniata County; and, was co-founding member of the Juniata\Mifflin Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Mr. Trout and his wife, Destiny, reside in Mifflintown with their three children.

Lisa Snyder has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Credit Administration Manager. Mrs. Snyder joined The Juniata Valley Bank in 2012 as manager of Credit Administration.  Lisa’s role continued to expand, as in 2015 she assumed responsibility for all aspects of loan operations.  Her recent promotion to Senior Vice President evidences her continuing professional growth in the financial industry and in all areas of credit administration. 

Mrs. Snyder is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management.

Prior to joining JVB, Mrs. Snyder held various management and administrative positions.  Most recently she was Assistant Operations Manager with UCT for six years.  Prior to that, Mrs. Snyder managed accounts payable with First Quality. Early in her career Mrs. Snyder was the operations manager at Lewistown Trust Company and Manager of Administrative Services with Mann Edge Tool. Mrs. Snyder resides in Lewistown, PA with her husband, Glenn.

Jason McFalls has been hired to serve in the capacity of Juniata Valley Bank’s Vice President and Retail Sales Division Manager.

Mr. McFalls previously worked in the Business Banking sector of Citizens Bank and PNC Bank in the Lancaster County market.  Most recently he was the Financial Services and Community Officer Manager for F&M Trust in Camp Hill, PA.  Mr. McFalls has a strong and varied background in sales and lending, consistent with JVB’s Community Bank focus and customer commitment. Mr. McFalls earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from West Chester University and is currently pursuing his MBA in Finance and Management from Penn State Harrisburg and anticipates completion by the spring of 2018.

Mr. McFalls has served his communities in a variety of capacities over the years as a United Way Account Executive, a YWCA of Lancaster Finance Committee Member, American Cancer Society Volunteer and a fundraising volunteer for Lancaster Community Safety Coalition.

Lynne Ruffner has been hired as Vice President and Northern Tier Retail Sales Manager.

Prior to joining JVB, she served as Director of Lending at Discovery Federal Credit Union, Vice President of Consumer Lending at Riverfront Federal Credit Union, and as a Branch Manager at Berks County Bank, all located in Berks County, PA.  Ms. Ruffner’s career spans 34 years and includes experience in branch administration, consumer and commercial lending and regulatory compliance.    

 Ms. Ruffner is an advocate for Relay for Life, participating and leading teams for the American Cancer Society of Central Berks County. With a love of Potter and McKean Counties since childhood, Ms. Ruffner and her husband relocated to, and now reside in, Coudersport, PA.

Adam Truitt has been appointed as Investment Advisor Representative in the Trust and Investment Management Division of the Bank.

Prior to his hire in February 2017, he was employed for two years with Tompkins Financial Advisors as a Registered Investment Representative and Wealth Advisor. Previous to that, Mr. Truitt served as Trust Officer and Financial Consultant at The First National Bank of Mifflintown. 

Mr. Truitt is a graduate of Harvard University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy.  Additionally, he holds Series 7, Series 66 and PA Life and Health Insurance licensing. 

Mr. Truitt is affiliated with the Berks County Estate Planning Council and currently resides in Auburn, PA.  He looks forward to relocating to the Juniata County area in the near future.
