BlueJeans Network Debuts BlueJeans for Workplace by Facebook Onstage at F8

In its latest integration with Facebook BlueJeans adds new video meetings capabilities to Workplace

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 18, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blue Jeans Network, Inc., a leading video meetings platform, today announced that its onVideo and Primetime products have been integrated with Workplace by Facebook. Workplace is a collaboration platform that helps organizations get more things done, and the resulting solution provides organizations of all sizes with a self-service, professional-grade video meetings platform that brings people together, creates new collaborative experiences, and is shareable.

Facebook made the announcement at its annual developer conference, F8. In addition, representatives from Facebook showcased the integration onstage, which can be viewed at https://www.fbf8.com/watch.

Just as BlueJeans delivered additional video capabilities to Facebook Live, the integration of BlueJeans with Workplace makes it possible to:

  • Conduct interactive video meetings so that participants can fully engage with one another
  • Deliver presentations via BlueJeans while sharing content through Workplace
  • Broadcast multi-party events independent of location or device
  • Surface relevant content and conversations, making them readily accessible to people who need them
  • Use Workplace to serve as a repository for meetings so that group members can stay current 24/7 and refer back to past discussions as needed.

“As we use BlueJeans for everything from 1:1 meetings up to large-scale meetings, the integration with Workplace will allow us to easily link them to company News Feeds or project team and Multi-Company Groups. This will enable people to stay involved and up-to-speed,” said Eugene Lee, Vice President, Technology Strategy at Viacom.

To use BlueJeans for Workplace, BlueJeans customers join meetings as usual. The meeting owner simply clicks the “Start broadcast to Workplace” button and selects which group receives access to the broadcast. The meeting begins, and it automatically appears in the designated users’ Workplace feed. Group members can interact live or create a discussion thread, posting comments and Reactions.  When the broadcast is complete, the meeting recording will stay within the group feed for others to review.

“We believe BlueJeans for Workplace will change the way organizations operate as teams continue to become better connected,” said BlueJeans Network CEO, Krish Ramakrishnan. “Our latest integration with Facebook marries the ease and simplicity of the world’s best consumer technology with the power of our industry-leading meeting platform, and the result is extraordinary.”
