The Independent Collection Launches Glisten Pride Packages this June

To celebrate LGBT National Pride Month this June, all 12 lifestyle hotels in the Independent Collection are offering the Glisten Pride Package, a package with varied components by hotel, united by the donation of 10 percent of room revenues to GLSEN.

Philadelphia, May 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LGBT National Pride Month is just around the corner and to celebrate, all 12 of the lifestyle hotels in the Independent Collection are offering The Glisten Pride Package for stays during the month of June. Each of the hotels has made the package their own with components such as an “In Rainbow” cocktail in Cambridge, two day passes to a local rooftop pool in Dupont Circle, D.C. and a drag brunch in Capitol Hill, D.C., but the unifying component is the donation of 10% of room revenues from the packages to GLSEN (pronounced “Glisten”). GLSEN is the leading national educational organization focused on ensuring safe and affirming schools for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

“We’re delighted to align with such a positive organization,” said HHM Independent Hotel Portfolio Corporate Director Erin Fitzharris. “In our communities and through our philanthropy, we are passionate about education and equality, so being able to merge the two through supporting GLSEN is an ideal way for us to commemorate Pride this year.”

LGBT National Pride Month is celebrated throughout the country in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event in what was then known as the Gay Liberation Movement. Many Independent Collection hotels have celebrated Pride in the past, including offering marriage packages post the repealing of Proposition 8, but this is the first-time Independent Collection Hotels have come together as a collection to commemorate LGBT Pride Month.
