Panera Bread Partners with A Special Wish Cleveland Chapter to Host 2nd Annual “Panera Bread Ultimate Baker Junior” Competition

CLEVELAND, June 02, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday, June 3rd 2017, Panera Bread will partner with A Special Wish Cleveland Chapter to help a local five year old fulfill their career aspirations of becoming a professional baker.  They will train under the guidance of Panera Bread’s Director of Baking (Cleveland), Dallas Cox, and compete to become the second Panera Bread Ultimate Baker Junior Champion.

Five year old Rob Gibson was born with chronic kidney disease, but he won’t let that get in the way of pursuing his goal of becoming a professional baker.  Rob has been perfecting his culinary skills leading up to the competition, and those skills will culminate in a live competition at the SouthPark Mall food court (Cinemark Lobby below Panera Bread Bakery Café).  Rob will learn what it takes to become an Ultimate Baker as he battles celebrity chef Christian Barnes and special guests for the title in a “Cleveland against the World” duel.

“It takes patience, quick-thinking and the right attitude to become an Ultimate Baker.  I know that Rob will be up for the challenge!” – Dallas Cox, Panera Bread.

Date: Saturday, June 3rd
Time: 12:00PM
Location: SouthPark Mall (Lobby below Panera Bread/Food Court)
500 Southpark Ctr, Strongsville, OH 44136

A Special Wish will also utilize community boxes located inside Cleveland and Akron Panera Bread Bakery-Cafés to collect cash donations for the foundation. All cash and spare change donations during the month of June will benefit A Special Wish Cleveland.   This money will be used to help grant wishes to children in the Cleveland and Akron region throughout 2017.
