Connectivity Reigns with Shuttle Computer Group’s XC60J Industrial Minicomputer

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., June 29, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shuttle Computer Group, Inc. announces its C60J, an industrial-grade minicomputer that provides excellent peripheral connectivity for a myriad of applications at an affordable price point. Its eight built-in COM ports power highly interactive kiosks, vending machines, and POS applications, among others, and its fanless design means quiet operation. No other computer on the market has this many connectors at the same price point; it is easily configured into peripheral-heavy POS, Kiosk, and Digital Signage systems.

“Standard PCs usually have one or two com ports, and those that have more are generally really expensive,” said Tosh Akhgar, Manager, Shuttle Solutions Team. “Shuttle’s XC60J’s low price, combined with its connectivity options, makes it a perfect choice for industrial integrators, especially those that work with legacy systems.”

The all-new XC60J supports Intel® Apollo Lake platform technology, equipped with 14 nm Intel® Celeron® J3355 dual-core processor. It supports 1.35V DDR3L low-voltage memory with a maximum capacity up to 8GB, which reduces thermal energy production and overall energy consumption.

With integrated Intel® HD graphics, Shuttle’s XC60J can support 4K/Ultra HD video playback and deliver dual displays via HDMI and D-sub for brilliant, fast-action video and imagery. It offers two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports to connect to bar code readers, flash drives, receipt printers, keypads, mice, etc.; SATA 6Gbps for high speed storage; and built-in Intel® Gigabit LAN for a direct RJ45 connection.

Built-in M.2 2280 Type M and M.2 2230 type A expansion slots gives users even more flexibility and allows users to install SSDs, Wi-Fi modules to add more storage or WiFi connectivity. It is 24/7 certified, operable 0-40 ⁰C environments, and VESA mountable, ideal for versatile applications.

The XC60J uses a thermal module with cooled heat pipe and sink to transmit heat throughout the system quickly and evenly. This unique fanless design reduces the power consumption required by a fan as well as the cost of replacing fans. With solid-state disks, users can create an operational platform completely free of noise.

The XC60J is scheduled for release in July, 2017, and comes with a three-year limited warranty.
