Lauritz.com Group A/S appoints its new CEO

No. 11/2017
Copenhagen, 25 July 2017

Lauritz.com has now completed the process of recruiting a new CEO. After a smooth process with Amrop, presenting a comprehensive field of highly qualified candidates, we have now appointed our new CEO.

Thus, Lauritz.com is pleased to announce that Erik Norberg will start as new CEO of the company on 04.09.2017.

Erik Norberg has a strong background and a successful track history within e-commerce. He is a young but experienced CEO with more than 10 years of operational and strategic leadership experience, primarily focused on growth by digital transformation, optimization of consumer platforms, internationalization and content strategies.

Erik Norberg comes from a position as CEO for the newspaper, Mitt i. Before this, Erik Norberg has built an impressive career over 7 years at the Schibsted Media Group, where he was responsible of developing different business areas and companies in different countries within e.g. Schibsted Classified Media, including several start-ups.

As to education, Erik Norberg has a Masters degree (in Management of growth enterprises) from Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law, a Bachelor in Political Science from University of Gothenburg and a Naval Officers Exam from the Swedish Defense University

Lauritz.com's Chairman Bengt Sundstrøm explains:
Erik Norberg is a very commercial profile with an energetic drive and a great experience within e-commerce. He has a natural customer orientation and a deep analytic understanding of the online trading industry. Through his career, Erik has documented that he works successfully in an entrepreneurial environment with a high pace and demanding long term ambitions. We are comfortable that he is capable of keeping up Lauritz.com's first mover position in the auction business, as he has the skills to develop the future structures to fulfill our growth plan. We are convinced that Erik is the right person to take Lauritz.com to the next level internationally.

Erik Norberg on his new role:
I truly support Lauritz.coms vision of making art, design and antiquities accessible for the broad audience. Today, Lauritz.com is a major player within auctions, but I see a huge potential in taking the internationalization further. I am looking forward to pursuing an innovative and offensive market approach also in the future. Lauritz.com has created a unique brand identity, inviting everybody to sell or buy at auctions. I see a big opportunity in expanding both the platform and the brand into the world's most inspiring and professional quality auctions online. The competition and the demand for convenience has grown rapidly in recent years, but I really believe in Lauritz.com's concept, brand and competences.

Erik is 36 years old, married and has 2 kids. Erik is Swedish and lives today in Stockholm, but will within shortly move to Copenhagen with his family.

Mette Rode Sundstrøm, our current CEO, will give Erik Norberg a thorough introduction to Lauritz.com. Thereafter, Mette Rode Sundstrøm will concentrate on her new position in Lauritz.com's board.
