YogaWorks Expands East Coast Presence With Acquisition of Premier Studios in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Acquisition Adds Two New Studios to YogaWorks’ Growing Portfolio, Including First Location in Virginia

LOS ANGELES and ARLINGTON, Va., and WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- YogaWorks, Inc. (NASDAQ:YOGA), one of the largest and fastest growing providers of high quality yoga instruction in the U.S., today announced its first acquisition of 2017 with the purchase of Tranquil Space’s two studios in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The deal comes on the heels of YogaWorks’ initial public offering on The NASDAQ Global Market, which took place on August 11, 2017, growing its studio count to 52 and broadening its regional footprint on the east coast.

Tranquil Space, founded by Kimberly Wilson in 1999, operates two studio locations, one in Arlington, Virginia and one in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. This October will be the 10th anniversary of the Arlington studio and the 18th anniversary of the Dupont studio which was named one of the top 25 yoga studios in the world according to Travel + Leisure magazine.

“We are thrilled to add Tranquil Space’s studios to the YogaWorks family, as we continue our growth through strategic acquisitions of premier yoga studios. From introductory yoga to restorative, prenatal, family and vinyasa yoga, Kimberly and her team have built an incredible, diverse practice and developed a vibrant local yoga community. Tranquil Space shares our commitment to empowering students’ journey, no matter their age or physical ability, in an inclusive and uplifting community-oriented environment,” said Rosanna McCollough, Chief Executive Officer of YogaWorks. “We look forward to partnering with the Tranquil Space team to help people achieve physical and mental well-being and de-stress in a supportive and welcoming environment.”

To foster Tranquil Space’s celebrated programming and operations, YogaWorks will retain the company's current teachers and staff and continue offering students the same great class programming, workshops, and yoga teacher training programs that are currently scheduled. The two studios will ultimately transition to the YogaWorks brand name as the Company seeks to broaden its presence in these markets and Ms. Wilson will stay on as a prominent teacher and teacher trainer in the community.

“I am excited to partner with the YogaWorks team to continue our growth and shared vision. With the support of YogaWorks, Tranquil Space will expand its community and commitment to transforming lives through yoga practices that can be applied on and off the mat,” said Ms. Wilson. "YogaWorks brings 30 years of leadership in the wellness industry and shares our commitment to offer a holistic yoga experience while expanding opportunities for our team and students.”
