MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Sept. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Auto Control Medical, a division of A&D Canada and leading distributor of home diagnostic devices and supplies, today announced that it is teaming up with STI to lower diabetes healthcare costs for Canadians.
With more than 1.5 million Canadian members to date, the STI innoviCares card is a free program designed to help consumers save money on name brand prescription drugs and devices. With the innoviCares card, Canadians will now be eligible to save up to $10 of their out-of-pocket costs whenever they make a purchase of test strips in their local pharmacy. This savings is only available for glucose strips used by the GE200 and DARIO meters
For people managing diabetes, this represents significant cost savings: a standard three tests per day with typical out-of-pocket costs could amount to saving more than $150 on an annual basis – an offer not available on the vast majority of testing strips in the marketplace.
The innoviCares card provides savings on GE200 and DARIO blood glucose test strips, the two testing platforms offered by Auto Control Medical:
- The GE-branded GE200 is an easy-to-use monitor that features the largest screen on the market as well as large, tactile test strips that are generally priced below other brands and well-recognized for their accuracy.
- The DARIO diabetes management system is an all-in-one device which allows the user to test right on their smart device and log all results automatically. Consumers can then easily share results with family members and health care professionals. Use of a smart device also eliminates the need to carry the usual case with testing supplies.

Available throughout all provinces (except Québec) and territories, any Canadian is eligible for the innoviCares card program. The GE 200 is now available at Walmart pharmacies, in addition to London Drugs, Rexall, Safeway and other participating pharmacies. The DARIO glucose meter is stocked at London Drugs, Lawtons, Safeway as well as other participating pharmacies.
