The priMED Mosaic Centre, is the earth’s northernmost net-zero energy commercial building.  Envisioned and pioneered by Christy Benoit and Dennis Cuku, designed by Manasc Isaac and built by Chandos Construction, the Centre opened in the Edmonton neigbourhood of Summerside in February 2015. In August of 2017, Christy and Dennis sold the building to priMED Medical Products and today all three parties are united in sharing the news with their respective communities.

“Today is an exciting day,” said David Welsh, President and CEO, priMED. “The LEED Platinum Certification is one of many commitments priMED is making to ensure environmental sustainability of its products and services, as well as to our staff. We are inspired by Christy’s and Dennis’ vision to create an amazing space and we recognize a tremendous amount of groundwork on their part went into to achieving the LEED Platinum Certification. This is a one-of-a-kind facility and we are eager to cohabit this bright, fresh-air, positive energy environment with all of our tenants.”

“We believe priMED is the perfect steward for the Centre moving forward,” said Christy Benoit, co-founder of the Mosaic Centre. “Finding a successor who shares our strong vision was the most important factor in our decision to sell the building. Our common goal to create a “people first” work environment ensures that innovation, collaboration, community and sustainability will be nurtured for years to come.”

In addition to its water efficiency, material selection and innovative design, the priMED Mosaic Centre includes: multi-media conference rooms, huddle spaces, a 12m Living Wall, restaurant, daycare, spa, electric vehicle charging stations, an exterior garden and courtyard—all designed to provide optimal working conditions and facilitate a sense of community amongst tenants and visitors.
