TAG Awards dataxu Four Certifications Around Fraud, Inventory Quality, and More

BOSTON, Oct. 24, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- dataxu®, a leading software provider for marketing professionals, today announced it has achieved multiple certifications from the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), an advertising industry initiative to fight criminal activity in the digital advertising supply chain, including certifications for the company’s work to fight fraud, malware, piracy and improve inventory quality. TAG’s recognition comes at a time of heightened awareness and concern around quality in the ad tech supply chain.

dataxu has long had some of the most stringent guidelines to ensure a high quality supply chain for its customers. Since the 2015 inception of the industry-first Fraud-Free Guarantee, dataxu customers have saved more than $80 million through the program. The launch of its Validated Inventory Marketplace in July marks the latest safeguard for dataxu customers, by enabling an easy and comprehensive solution within dataxu’s TouchPoint™ platform to ensure ads are running only on authentic, verified inventory.

The gateway to all of TAG’s certifications is the TAG Registry, a centralized and verified list of legitimate companies in the digital advertising ecosystem. In order to be included on the registry, each company must undergo a proprietary background check and review process powered by Dun & Bradstreet and approved by TAG.

“TAG is known for its exacting standards when it comes to evaluating the safeguards in this industry,” said Mike Zaneis, CEO of TAG. “dataxu carries these high standards with its four certifications, showing its commitment to a secure supply chain in the advertising ecosystem.”

After being approved for the TAG Registry, dataxu received four additional specific TAG certifications, each addressing a distinct problem area in the ad tech inventory supply chain:

  • TAG Certified Against Fraud: Recognition of companies working to eliminate ad fraud and combat the negative impact of fraudulent traffic by complying with industry best practices outlined in TAG’s standards.
  • TAG Inventory Quality Guidelines: Awarded for adapting to a framework that was developed to improve trust within the marketplace, by ensuring that transparency is maintained through all touchpoints of a transaction.
  • TAG Certified Against Malware: Awarded for adopting high standards to avoid perpetrating malware through the advertising ecosystem.
  • TAG Certified Against Piracy: Given for using leading anti-piracy technologies to prevent the brand damage that can stem from ad placements on websites that facilitate the distribution of pirated content or counterfeit products.

“Our customers see dataxu as one of their frontline defenses against fraud, inauthentic inventory and other unethical practices in the supply chain. We at dataxu have long been committed to meeting these expectations, with concrete actions like creating the Fraud-Free Guarantee in 2015 and launching our Validated Inventory Marketplace,” said Rory Edwards, VP of Marketplace and Corporate Strategy at dataxu. “We’re proud to have received these certifications from TAG, and see this as validation for our proactive, customer-centric approach to combating issues in the supply chain.”
