JDRF’s T1D Heroes Advocating for Insulin Pump Coverage in Manitoba

JDRF advocates meeting in Manitoba today to discuss the need to fund insulin pumps for all ages

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Nov. 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Manitoba Lobby Day 2017 is an opportunity to make a difference. Today, 10 T1D Heroes – advocates living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) – are at the Manitoba Legislative Building to speak with Members of the Legislative Assembly. They plan to share their experience living with T1D and the importance of extending insulin pump coverage to people of all ages.

JDRF and our T1D Heroes feel that Manitoba should follow the lead of Alberta, Ontario, Nunavut, North West Territories, and Yukon – provinces and territories which already cover insulin pump costs for all residents. Currently, Manitobans between ages 18 and 60 are left without public coverage. Insulin pumps should be covered for everyone living with T1D regardless of age.

We are thankful to our T1D Heroes for being so passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with T1D.
