Dallas, Texas, Dec. 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

“We all know the feeling of experiencing a dream so real and vivid that when we wake, we really feel we have lived it. I feel this way about my art"-Liudmila Kondakova

Liudmila Kondakova grew up in Russia, studied at the Graber Center in Moscow and attended Russia’s School of Sacred Arts and the Moscow Art Institute. In the early 1980s she traveled to Paris and became enthralled with the City of Light. Since that time, her artistic gifts, sensibilities and idealized vision of Paris have served as the foundation and inspiration for much of her magnificent work.

“To me, as a painter, what to paint is not as important as how to paint. I am interested in color composition, color harmony. I am excited about details and the particular challenges that every painting presents. My technique is very complex. I mastered it to perfection and enjoy implementing it."-Liudmila Kondakova

The palette and iconography throughout her paintings are influenced by both Russian and Byzantine sensibilities. Kondakova often finds herself chasing after a particular time of day as she searches for the perfect hour to reveal all the magic that color can invoke.

Kondakova now resides in the San Francisco Suburb of Redwood City and travels back to Europe regularly for new inspiration. This is quite evident in “Paris by Moonlight” one of the enchanting new archival graphics, signed by the artist and crafted with hand-made serigraph texture plates. It whimsically captures the moon above the shimmering ‘City of Lights’ while bubbles echo in a circular theme. Mischievous fairies populate each bubble, making this work an excellent choice for a child’s bedroom, a romantic retreat or for “dreamers at heart.”

“Red Umbrella,” offers a winter scene inspired by William Turner’s paintings of London and the River Thames, to which Kondakova has substituted the Eiffel Tower and placed a punctuation point of red to influence emotion and vibrancy to the work. Love and romance fill the canvas as soft, winter snowflakes fall, muffling all sound while two lovers quietly share the protection of a red umbrella. “Misty Morning” allows the viewer to imagine and capture the landscape and viewpoint of the rooftops of Paris, a levitated, unreal world with its architectural gathering of geometric shapes and forms. Kondakova’s colors blend in a subtle, poetic balance. These masterpieces are included in the exhibition and available for acquisition.

Come and meet the artist at the opening reception, to be held on Saturday, January 13, 6-8PM, RSVP (972) 546-2988
