Chigoo’s new cTrolley to use Neonode zForce AIR Touch Sensor Components

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Neonode Inc. (NASDAQ:NEON), the optical interactive sensing technology company, today announced that Chigoo is using Neonode’s new zForce AIR Touch Sensor components in cTrolley. cTrolley is a smart luggage carrier providing airport passengers with indoor navigation and answers to real-time flight inquiries such as boarding guides, travel updates and reminders as well as entertainment.

The zForce AIR Touch Sensor enables instant touch interaction on any device with a USB or I2C interface. The sensor simplifies integration into any host based application supporting the most common interfaces, by integrating precision optics, lasers along with a Neonode proprietary controller IC. The zForce AIR Touch Sensor reports touch coordinates up to 500 times per second for virtually zero delay.

“Neonode is happy to have Chigoo adopt our zForce AIR Touch Sensor for their demanding 13.3” display touch application in public environments like airports where image quality, durability and power consumption are key,” said Neonode CEO Thomas Ericsson.

“Chigoo is happy to work with Neonode on our new cTrolley. Neonode’s touch sensor’s fast response time makes the touch interaction with our cTrolley enjoyable and fun, and the modular design streamlined our assembly process. Also, in the next 3 to 4 years, Chigoo plans to deploy 300,000 cTrolley globally to cement its leading role in the forefront of smart luggage carriers,” said Chigoo CEO Jack Chen.

Chigoo’s  cTrolleys are currently used in 10 Chinese airports including Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chong Qing  and Qingdao. By scanning their boarding pass travelers receive live flight status updates, including an alert when to head to the gate for boarding. Travelers can also charge their phones using the cTrolley trolley’s built-in charger and find directions to their gate or the nearest restaurant or restroom using built-in airport map navigation. Chigoo plans to make cTrolley available at all air traffic hubs worldwide starting with major airports across the USA, including Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and New York.
