Logicworks Launches Targeted Professional Services Portfolio for AWS

Provides strategy, architecture design, migration, security, and DevOps based on AWS expertise and best practices

NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Logicworks today announced the launch of its specialized professional services portfolio of products for Amazon Web Services (AWS). The program is custom-built to support customers who have made the strategic decision to use AWS as a key platform for their IT infrastructure and need highly specialized expertise, engineering, and consulting services.

Logicworks recruited industry veteran and IT executive Chuck Price to run Global Professional Services for the company. Chuck has been involved in technology and business leadership for over 25 years including Global CIO for the SANS Institute, CEO and founder of Ajubeo, SVP of Technology for Coresite, head of technology for TD Ameritrade Trust Company, and has held C-level positions at Fiserv Investment Support Services, Requisite Technology, Syngistix and Net Library.

“Logicworks is the industry leader in AWS infrastructure management and DevOps,” said Price. “Customers have told us that they need our guidance well before the Operate and Run phase of adoption. Our Professional Services practice will allow us to bring value to customers at any stage of the journey to the AWS cloud from strategy to design to complex application portfolio migrations.”

The new offering is based on two tracks, Migration and Optimization. Migration follows AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Migration Readiness and Planning (MRP) constructs. These principles cover the full spectrum of requirements for new AWS projects including strategy, planning, technology readiness, architecture design, and managed migration. The Optimization track follows AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAFR). WAFR is a guiding concept that covers a full suite of analysis and improvement products for current AWS customers. It includes architecture, cost optimization, security & compliance, and DevOps automation. Between these two tracks, Logicworks offers end-to-end consulting and engineering services to accelerate customers’ move to the cloud while improving efficiency, security, and return-on-investment.

The addition of custom-built AWS Professional Services products to Logicworks’ broader suite of managed services and software reflects the company’s maturity and commitment to the platform. Logicworks sits at a unique position in the AWS partner ecosystem as a Premier Partner with over 100 AWS technical certifications, and AWS certified competencies in Migration, DevOps, Security, Healthcare, and PCI/eCommerce. Logicworks was acknowledged in the “Leader” category of the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Managed Service Providers.

Logicworks’ AWS Professional Services address three strategic areas of focus:

  • Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) – An in-depth strategy and planning approach for organizations beginning the journey to the cloud. CAF aligns all the key stakeholders in the company across IT, finance, legal, HR, and sales and develops a consensus of the value, risk, and roadmap to a cloud migration.
  • Migration Readiness & Planning (MRP) – A comprehensive planning exercise for cloud migrations. This service includes auto-discovery of the application portfolio and current hardware footprint, analysis of compatibility and existing platforms, and evaluation of security and compliance requirements, resulting in a detailed architecture design and Agile migration plan.
  • AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAFR) – A blueprint for efficient and modern IT design, WAFR is the culmination of a decade of best practices and architecture principles on the AWS cloud. Logicworks analyzes the existing AWS account against the pillars of Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Operational Excellence. Logicworks adds the additional dimension of regulatory compliance for Financial Services and Healthcare industries. The service concludes with remediation sprints to implement the findings and recommendations.

In addition to the new professional services offering, Logicworks continues to develop its proprietary cloud management and automation capabilities. A beta release of its new Pulse software platform was launched in September, providing up-to-the-second intelligence about cloud operations across myriad sources. Between its intellectual capital in cloud operations, its comprehensive professional services practice, and its industry specialization in the highly controlled markets of Financial Services and Healthcare, Logicworks is positioned to continue leading the pack of AWS consulting vendors.
