EVEConnect and Home Connect Unite Car and Home

With EVEConnect and Home Connect, Consumers Will Enjoy the Convenience of On-the-Go Access to Their Connected Home Appliances

OTTAWA, Jan. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Evolved Vehicle Environment’s (EVE) product EVE for Tesla (teslaapps.net/en/partners/bosch), the most advanced Connected Home/Connected Car integration solution for your Tesla today, is excited to announce its partnership with Home Connect (www.home-connect.com), the leading open platform that connects home appliances to the Internet of Things.

EVEConnect’s revolutionary solution integrates connected and remotely programmable home appliances, such as ovens or coffee machines, into one easily accessible environment. Users can access, update and receive real-time information about their home appliances, all from the driver seat. Ergonomically designed for effective in-car usage, EVEConnect provides seamless connectivity, while reducing driver distraction.

Home Connect unlocks a multitude of connected consumer experiences in the kitchen, and provides the convenience of managing connected appliances from home or away. Users can turn appliances on and off, gain insight about the appliances, individualize their mode and trigger certain functionalities or actions, such as adjusting timers or putting the appliances into an energy-saving mode.

Users can access the full array of Home Connect experiences through the Home Connect app. The integration of EVEConnect and Home Connect means users never have to put the connection with their appliances on hold. All the important access and useful information that consumers are used to having at their fingertips with the Home Connect app is now easily accessed with EVEConnect as well. Connectivity “downtime” during the daily commute is virtually eliminated, because all Home Connect information and interaction is available directly from the car dashboard.

This increased connectivity means increased peace of mind for Home Connect consumers. “Everyone, at some time or other, has wondered whether they left the stove or the coffeemaker on when they left the house,” explains Warren Butland, co-founder of EVE. “EVEConnect and Home-Connect provide continuous access. You can easily check the status of your appliances and be reassured that they are actually off.”

EVEConnect is fully customizable, and Home Connect-supported home appliances can be viewed from the Tesla dashboard. Remotely programmable home appliances can be activated or deactivated as needed from the dashboard, and users can experience added convenience by selecting pre-set or fully customizable EVEConnect automations.

An EVEConnect automation is a pre-programmed automation, which is a series of functions corresponding with specific events, such as leaving or coming home.

The EVEConnect automation “Leaving Home” is automatically activated once the user has pulled out of his or her driveway. Using Geofencing Technology, EVEConnect senses the exit and coordinates with Home Connect to enact a series of functions with notifications displayed on your Tesla dashboard, this could include switching off appliances such as the coffee maker. Automations are fully customizable and users have the option of creating their own automated processes, tailored to their individual routines and needs.

“Requesting information from your home appliances or even communicating with them from the car dashboard is a unique opportunity to bundle most common functions of connected home devices into a regularly used interface while on-the-go. We are sure that EVEConnect users will enjoy such an innovative and convenient way to manage their home appliances around their lifestyle,” says Niels Kuschinsky, Chief Digital Officer responsible for Home Connect at BSH.

The partnership of EVEConnect and Home Connect will bring new levels of convenience, assurance and energy savings to customers. Users will have total control of their connected home appliances from wherever they may be.
