Milpitas, CA., Jan. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The move to smart and connected equipment is fueling the current IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) revolution, and equipment manufacturers know they can provide better customer service and support with access to real-time machine information at their fingertips.

Sierra Monitor Corporation (OTCQB:SRMC), a leader in multi-protocol gateways and cloud connectivity with hundreds of unique OEM partners, is launching FieldView, it’s new Cloud-based device management platform.

FieldView is the first application of the SMC Cloud and provides equipment manufacturers a turn-key solution to provide better service, support and maintenance.  FieldView consists of five core functions:

  • Simplified device registration – automate the process of capturing equipment information as well as installation details including precise location.
  • Alarming and notification – monitor equipment from the cloud and pro-actively notify support and service personnel of issues.
  • Remote access – minimize needless truck-rolls with cloud-based managed access to equipment and control panels.
  • Trend analysis – capture and store data across devices, firmware and models to monitor trends in performance and functionality.
  • Smartphone app – provide compartmentalized equipment data for service and support personnel in the field.

“Many companies recognize the importance of real-time access to information yet struggle to quantify the intended efficiency benefits. With FieldView, SMC is turning cloud data into actionable insight for better customer service and support at the time and place of opportunity,” said Ryan Martin, Principal Analyst with ABI Research.

At the AHR event, held in the McCormick Center in Chicago, SMC (stand #4244) will have the SMC Cloud and FieldView showing data from connected equipment from SMC original equipment manufacturer partners including – AERCO, Bock, Camus, Cimberio, Cleaver Brooks, Leonard Valve, Onicon, Preferred Utilities, Pure Humidifier, RayPak, Sellers Manufacturing, and Weil-McLain.
