Most CI and DevOps vendors are focused on Ubuntu-based applications, and a few are focused solely on Windows or iOS. As a result, DevOps teams often use multiple platforms, or choose to continue managing their own instances of Jenkins. In addition to multi-OS support, Shippable is announcing an analytics add-on that will enable teams to measure and mature their DevOps processes. For example, teams will be able to run reports on topics such as:
- Development velocity for various components or teams
- Code quality trends over time with filters for date ranges and components/teams
- Anomalies in the workflow, i.e. when a feature is “stuck” and not making expected progress through its workflow
