EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Liquor Stores N.A. Ltd. (the “Company” or “Liquor Stores”) (TSX:LIQ) announced today that Bernadette (Bernie) Kollman, ICD.D has been appointed to the Board of Directors effective as of today’ date.
“Ms. Kollman is an Edmontonian with extensive community and industry experience; we look forward to her contributions as we strengthen our presence in our core markets and continue with strategic initiatives. Bernie brings over 30 years (1986-2016) of experience from various roles with IBM Canada Ltd., including being the Vice President, Public Sector, Alberta and Senior Location Executive for Edmonton. She also founded and Co-Chaired (2005-2016) the IBM Alberta Centre for Advanced Studies.
Bernie is a passionate leader who is dedicated to building a stronger community both economically and socially. She is currently the Board Chair of Travel Alberta, serving on its Board since 2013. Additionally, she is a Board member of United Way, Alberta Capital Region; a Board member of Edmonton Global; Chair of a MacKay CEO Forum; an Advisory Board member for Arrkann Trailer and RV Center; and serves on the Board of Compute Canada. Bernie is also an Executive Committee member for the Edmonton Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a member of the International Women’s Forum. She was formerly a Board member and Chair of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and also Chair of the 2007 United Way campaign.
