CAMARILLO, Calif., Feb. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq:SMTC), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, today announced the launch of the IoT Innovator’s Challenge. Engineers and technologists will compete to receive the next-generation LoRa® devices and wireless radio frequency technology (LoRa Technology) developer kit by submitting new, unique use cases focusing on these core verticals markets, including agriculture, cities, supply chain and logistics, metering, industrial IoT, health care, food and safety, and insurance.
IoT Innovator’s Challenge entries must be submitted through the LoRa Community, and eligible participants are required to develop a two minute video highlighting their new use case or design idea featuring Semtech’s SX126x platform. Six contestants with the most innovative use cases will be awarded an early edition of the next-generation LoRa Technology, SX126x, developer kit. Along with the developer kit, the top three contestants will also receive a monetary prize of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place.
The contest will begin on February 27 at 5 a.m. PST and end on March 23 at 5 p.m. PST. The new features of the next-generation LoRa Technology IC chipsets help make it increasingly possible for developers to create new LoRa-enabled devices that solve every day problems.
