The Hope Street Family Center is a community program of the California Hospital Medical Center that provides in-home and on-site educational, health and wellness, behavioral health development and social services that support children and families.
Matthew was recognized for his support of the organization through his family foundation – the Katz Foundation as well as for his public service leadership as CEO of Verifi. The Katz Foundation seeks to alleviate food scarcity around the world and provide at-risk communities with the tools needed to support and sustain a healthy population. The Katz Foundation provided millions of meals in 2017 and will continue to offer community support and provide meals to millions more in 2018.
Matthew founded Verifi in 2005 when he was 26 years old. From the outset, he made a commitment to giving his time and company resources back to the surrounding community. Today, Verifi has offices on three continents and each office holds its own Quarterly Day of Service that benefits local charities and causes.

- The LA River Project, where Verifi employees collected trash from the river’s edge.

- A Snow Day for LA-based foster children where Verifi created a true winter experience by arranging for snow and sledding for disadvantaged children.
- The Salvation Army, where Verifi employees shepherded underprivileged kids through a holiday shopping spree.

The Katz Foundation currently supports food scarcity challenges in Cambodia and Malawi and helps provide for the safety of LAPD officers and K9s.
