Clover Health Discusses Behavioral Science at SXSW 2018

SAN FRANCISCO, March 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Clover Health, a health insurance company using data and technology to fill gaps in care and improve health outcomes, today announced its participation at the SXSW Interactive Festival taking place March 9–13 in Austin, Texas.

Clover's Chief Behavioral Officer (CBO) Matt Wallaert will be speaking on a panel about how putting behavior change at the center of product and service design can create better outcomes. Traditional methods of design have often prioritized product and service quality over the behaviors they influence. However, the recent introduction of behavioral science into the process has put a renewed focus on combining rigorous testing and psychology-based methods of design with goal-setting around user actions. As the first CBO in the health insurance industry, Wallaert will share examples of how Clover works with its members to support and encourage healthy choices.

When: Monday, March 12 at 5 p.m.

As a sponsor of the SXSW Trade Show, Clover designed a booth to help attendees reflect on the important aspects of life. Clover asked its members, many of whom are over 65 years old, what advice they would give their younger selves. Their responses are highlighted in Clover's booth and attendees are invited to share their advice to their future selves alongside them. By tweeting a selfie and their advice using #CloverSXSW, participants will be entered to win a copy of Advanced Style, a book that serves as an “ode to the confidence, beauty, and fashion that can only be achieved through the experience of a life lived glamorously.

Clover is located at booth #1727 in the Health and Medtech section of the tradeshow floor.
