BNP Paribas announces partnership with Sparknews to debut Positive Innovation Club in US

NEW YORK, March 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As part of a long-standing commitment to support positive change in society, BNP Paribas and Sparknews set to inspire and connect purpose-driven leaders with Positive Innovation Club launch in New York City.

At the launch event to be held on March 29, 2018, David Jones, co-founder of global youth forum One Young World, and former CEO of Havas, will discuss how corporations are addressing positive transformational challenges.

Following Jones’ keynote, six inspiring initiatives including start-ups, social enterprises and corporate entrepreneurs will pitch their innovative approach to participants, who will then choose one of the projects they would like to focus on during a one-hour workshop facilitated by Sparknews, a social enterprise aimed at tackling the biggest issues our planet is facing by creating content and events that support world-changing innovation initiatives.

Sparknews firmly believes, “solutions exist everywhere to create a world where sustainability and profits are compatible,” and “change can be achieved by anyone.”

As a result, in 2016 the Positive Innovation Club was born in Paris, so corporate leaders motivated by a desire to support positive and long-lasting changes to society could collaborate and exchange concrete ideas to improve corporate social responsibility (CSR) or business practices with like-minded peers.

With corporations continuing to bear a large responsibility in transforming the world for the better, this timely partnership and launch in the US allows BNP Paribas the opportunity to host the conversation and spur concrete collective action.

“As a major international company and financial services group, we have the human, technological and financial resources to push boundaries and take a leading role in being part of the solution,” says Hervé P. Duteil, Chief Sustainability Officer, BNP Paribas Americas.
