Farsight Security Announces DNSDB API Key Portability Program

The single API key is platform agnostic, allowing security analysts to apply it to multiple threat intel platforms to strengthen overall security posture with powerful DNS data

SAN MATEO, Calif., April 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Farsight Security, Inc., a leading cybersecurity provider of DNS intelligence solutions, today introduced its DNSDB API Key Portability Program. The platform-agnostic DNSDB API Key is “portable” -- allowing cybersecurity researchers and practitioners to easily move between multiple platforms to enrich their investigations with the power of DNS intelligence data. To enable users to test the “portability” of the DNSDB API Key and try it out on their preferred platform solutions, Farsight Security is offering a 30-day free trial, in which users can make up to 100 queries each day.

"Farsight Security and Recorded Future share the belief that threat intelligence is critical to the success of many security functions – and, more importantly, it needs to be fast to access and simple to use. By using Farsight's portable DNSDB API Key, mutual customers can easily view Farsight's DNS Intelligence data while reviewing Recorded Future's Intel cards for comprehensive threat intelligence. We're excited to continue our partnership with Farsight Security and look forward to what comes next," said Matt Kodama, VP Product, Recorded Future.

The single API (application program Interface) key quickly and efficiently integrates with leading Security Information Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) and Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP) solutions. For a full list of our partners, visit here.

Farsight DNSDB is the largest DNS intelligence database in the world. It contains more than 100 billion DNS records and is updated in real-time to provide an up-to-date snapshot of the changing Internet  dating as far back as 2010. Organizations use this database to gain actionable information about past and current use of digital artifacts such as IP addresses and domain names used by cybercriminals, to improve their cyber situational awareness to protect against attacks, both known and unknown, and reduce the risk of damaging brand and reputational integrity.

“The portability afforded by our DNSDB API Key allows teams to enrich their platforms with our passive DNS data without being concerned with compatibility even if they use multiple platforms or decide to change platforms.  It simply allows security analysts to do more, better and faster," said Alexa Raad, COO at Farsight Security.

Farsight Security DNSDB API Key is a valuable tool that can be used by enterprises operating their own security operations or by channel and integration partners working with organizations to improve their security posture.
