Premier Organizations Across Multiple Industries Announce New Products at BIOMEDevice Boston

Companies Across Medtech, Manufacturing and Embedded Technology to Display New Products and Services


SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BIOMEDevice Boston, New England’s largest event for medtech professionals, today announced that 39 exhibitors will debut new products and services at this year’s event, which will feature over 450 leading suppliers in total. BIOMEDevice Boston is a part of New England’s largest advanced design and manufacturing event and runs alongside Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Boston and Design and Manufacturing New England. All three events take place in conjunction April 18 – 19, 2018, at the Boston Exhibition and Convention Center. More than 4,500 attendees will be in attendance across the three co-located events, showcasing the latest innovations across medtech, embedded systems, manufacturing and plastics. Below is a preview of products and services to be announced:

AMRI (booth 655) expands its drug delivery device testing capabilities to encompass the full series of ISO 80369 standard test procedures. In 2016, ISO published specifications for reducing the risk of misconnecting fittings in medical procedures. AMRI is one of the only U.S. providers to offer compliance testing services for these standards.

Analytical Answers Inc. (booth 553) announces two new services: Broad Ion Beam Milling (BIB) and Small Spot ESCA (XPS). BIB rapidly sections through large (3mm+) areas of materials, including some that often can't be cut by FIB, ultramicrotomy or polishing. Small Spot XPS provides a surface analysis spot of 30µm, compared to >400µm previously.

Arnold Magnetic Technologies (booth 765) is showcasing its Precision Thin Metals business offering titanium products in several commercially pure grades and several standard alloy compositions for applications demanding high performance and quality. Titanium and Ti alloys are available in cold rolled or annealed condition as thin as 2 microns. PTM is Nadcap® certified for heat treatment.

Avista Pharma Solutions Inc. (booth 437) acquired Solid Form Solutions, a leading provider of solid state science and crystallization development services for clients in the pharmaceutical industry. This expands Avista Pharma’s existing solid phase science services and provides both companies’ customers seamless access to a full suite of drug development services ranging from analytical development to API and drug product manufacturing.

Blue Thunder Technologies (booth 753) will showcase their line of blu-SAT Presaturated Wipes. Saturated with IPA and DI water, the blu-SAT line has options compatible with cleanroom classes 1,10, 100, 1000, and higher. They are packaged in re-sealable containers for convenient dispensing and reduced evaporation. Materials include poly-cellulose, polypropylene, and polyester.

Boedeker Plastics Inc. (booth 936) will be showcasing its JIT (Just in Time) supply services. With an added 10,000 square feet of climate-controlled space dedicated to inventorying customer’s parts and releasing them as needed, Boedeker’s “just in time” service eliminates the costs associated with carrying large on-hand inventories.

Boston Analytical (booth 431) is pleased to announce the addition of its ISO 5 Cleanroom with Grade A Laminar Flow Hood to perform medical device sterility testing. The cleanroom offers tightly controlled air flow, pressurization, temperature, and humidity for compliance with ISO, FDA, or EU standards.

CE3 Electronics Inc. (booth 1119) is pleased to announce that by late June 2018, it will have a fully operational EMC anechoic chamber that will provide a wide range of system performance and compatibility measurements regarding EMC Compliance, emissions violations and immunity under harsh RF conditions.

Chieftek Precision USA Co. (booth 921) will demonstrate its new DD motor and Rotary position system, TC1-B servo Driver. Chieftek manufactures complete lines of precision linear guides, linear motors, linear stages, xyz gantry systems (essential for precision automation applications) as well as 3D metal printing, industrial robots, and fluid handling for all major industries.

Cirtronics Corp. (booth 857) is highlighting how its integrated system of Precision Engagement® accelerates the manufacturing of complex and innovative medical devices for companies looking to outsource assembly and production to bring their devices and systems to the marketplace. Cirtronics is an experienced medtech contract manufacturer located in the greater Boston area.

Conductive Technologies Inc. (booth 640) a global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization working with the medical device industry for more than 65 years, will be displaying samples and discussing various conversion processes with regards to conductive printing expertise during BIOMEDevice Boston 2018

Enercon Technologies (booth 737) is announcing its build-out of 70,000 square feet of additional space onto their ISO 3485 registered Design + Build Center. The expanded facility significantly increases capacity for integrated product development and contract manufacturing of electronics-based devices.

Forum Plastics LLC (booth 327), an ISO 13485:2016 manufacturer of precision injection molds and components now offers quick turn tooling and 3D Printing to continue to help customers deliver their products to market quickly. Connecticut-based Forum Plastics LLC remains focused on investing into equipment and technologies to support our customers and markets.

iFyber (booth 508) introduces research and development services for companies that operate at the interface of chemistry, microbiology, and material science. iFyber has significant capabilities for analytical method development, anti-biofilm/antimicrobial efficacy, coating design and assessment, chemical sensor design, and analyte detection.

Integrated Computer Solutions (booth 347), a Boston-based UX design and software development firm will showcase some of its lifesaving medical devices including a portable ventilator, a sophisticated adaptive fluid delivery infusion pump, and an indoor-environment control system for operating rooms and burn units.

Ironwood Electronics (booth 965) will display its recently introduced Lever Actuated 4344 pin 80GHz BGA socket. Experts on-site will also show sockets/adapters for QFN, BGA, SOIC, QFP, and other SMT packages. Ironwood’s GHz line of sockets supports the smallest footprint in the industry.

Koganei International America Inc. (booth 359) is showcasing the world's smallest solenoid valve now available with an "in-line" version. Users can now plumb supply air/inert gases inline to a molded barbed fitting on the valve—no manifold needed. Customer benefits include making the smallest physical size pneumatic/gas circuit in the world today.

Leoni Elocab Ltd. (booth 101) to showcase endoscopy, microminiature, and other tailor-made cables for the medical industry for aesthetics, endoscopy, diagnostics and other applications. Leoni designs, identifies components, and manufactures cables with unique requirements such as torsional twisting, high flex life, autoclavable, textures, cosmetics, and more.

Madico Inc. (booth 845) will present its suite of medical films and coatings including its new HyTek® product, a super hydrophobic coating for applications that require water repellency and self-cleaning properties.

Mathworks (booth 981) is showcasing the latest release of its Polyspace static code analysis products, release R2018a with included automatic verification support for AUTOSAR, additional support for MISRA C/C++, and concurrency modeling. Security standard checking was enhanced with additional checks for CERT C and new cryptography checks were added.

Maxon Precision Motors Inc. (booth 316) is showcasing its sensorless speed and torque control solution that is fully customized. This new technology allows for field-oriented control for brushless motors without sensors from full-stop to full-speed under load. It uses a sophisticated signal injection algorithm which precisely determines the rotor position for a smooth startup.

Memtronik Innovations Inc. (booth 324) will be featuring demos of its new wearable and heater technologies. These innovative solutions can be easily integrated in user interfaces due to their lightweight, thin and versatile assembly capabilities. Also on display will be samples of Memtornik's custom membrane/capacitive keypads, etc.

Minitubes (booth 335) is introducing a new process developed for improved affordable medical applications like hypotubes, capillary tubing, and needles (CoCr, Phynox, Elgiloy, MP35N, 35NLT, L605, Inconel). Minitubes is the value partner for custom precision metal tubing manufacturing solutions (Ø from 0.10 mm to 30 mm, thick and thin walls, minute tolerances, and smooth finishes).

Nicomatic (booth 444) will showcase its latest product development for the medical device industry, V Shield. This creative technology has been tested up to 15 million flex cycles and is the perfect shielding option for dynamic flexing applications where EMI/RFI and ESD protection is a must.

Onyx Healthcare USA (booth 752), an ASUS Assoc. Co. will showcase its new fan-less, waterproof, drop-proof, 8" medical grade tablet, MPAD-800 with built-in type A USB port and cellular communication. It is also Clorox compatible and is medical safety rated with shift ready battery life supporting 8-10 hours operating time.

Photometrics (booth 104) announces the release of its Prime BSI Scientific CMOS camera. Prime BSI offers near perfect 95 percent quantum efficiency and leverages an optimized pixel size, backside illumination (BSI) and low noise characteristics. It is a versatile camera for live cell techniques, including TIRF, Ratiometric Imaging, and Light Sheet microscopy.

Prior Scientific Instruments Ltd. (booth 832), a Cambridge based manufacturer of precision optical and mechanical instrumentation is pleased to announce that it has acquired Queensgate Instruments, a division of Elektron Technology. Queensgate, with its manufacturing based in Torquay, is a leading supplier of high precision nanopositioning systems and sensors.

RRC Power Solutions Inc. (booth 651) is launching two additional standard Li-Ion solutions. The batteries will have a slim design (8mm), high-energy density and feature a 2s1p and 3s1p layout, and have redundant safety features: RRC2130 (7.6V, 3.9Ah, 30Wh) and RRC2140 (11.4V, 3.9Ah, 44Wh). Both battery packs offer comprehensive worldwide approvals and certifications.

SECO (booth 978), an innovative embedded solutions designer and manufacturer offering custom design and system integration, will showcase seven new System on Modules and Single Board Computers in the Qseven, ComExpress, and SMARC product families. New products and 2018 roadmap offer both x86 and ARM processors from Intel, AMD, NXP, and Xilinx.

Siglent Technologies America (booth 1071) will be displaying its new SDG6000X family of arbitrary waveform generators with optional I/Q capability. Also on display will be a very soon-to-be-announced multi-function spectrum/network/modulation analyzer with cable fault locator.

Static Clean Interational Inc. (booth 405) is showcasing its Medical Cleaning Station with Automated Shuttle (MCS-AS) providing all the benefits of the MCS system—an effective, efficient, time-proven system for cleaning products/packaging. Its source capturing particulates in the critical medical device manufacturing and packaging process—elevating it to a whole new level.

Steinmeyer Inc. (booth 831), a German-based maker of precision miniature ball screws, announces a new program to stock miniature screw samples that can be used for prototype development by engineers. Available now for immediate shipment.

The Copley Consulting Group (booth 556) will demonstrate an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for medical device manufacturers. The solution gives the tools needed to help mitigate FDA compliance risk, while turning developmental concepts into commercialized product offerings with greater efficiency.

T.M. Electronics (booth 350), specialists in leak, flow, and package testers, will feature the latest in custom test fixtures for testing unique medical device applications. Custom test fixtures provide a sure method of accurately measuring leak, flow, or occlusion in medical devices which typically do not conform to a standard shape.

Total Phase Inc. (booth 1074) is announcing the release of its A2B Bus Monitor Level 1 Application for the Promira Serial Platform, providing unprecedented access to the A2B system. The A2B monitor can non-intrusively sniff A2B data in real time, decode superframes, and display audio channels.
