The Ilan Ramon Scholarship Project Announces the Release of the Shimon Peres Short Film "POET TO THE STARS"

WASHINGTON, April 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ilan Ramon Scholarship Project is proud to release this short film, Shimon Peres, “Poet to the Stars,” on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel.  The film contains footage of the never-before-seen interview with Shimon Peres.

Michael Potter, the executive producer, explained the genesis of the film. “We originally interviewed Shimon Peres in connection with the award-winning documentary film, “The University.” The documentary team realized that his words were so impactful and inspiring that the team felt the footage had to be shared as a dedicated short film.”

Shimon Peres has always been a champion of technology and science as positive forces for societal change. Peres famously mused,  “I did not dream of becoming president of Israel.  My dream as a boy was to be a shepherd or a poet to the stars." His timeless message of the use of technology, science and innovation as tools for changing the world is reflected in these interviews. https://www.poettothestars.com

According to Avi Jorisch, author of Thou Shalt Innovate, "This film captures the heart and soul of the Jewish people and seems to suggest a much deeper and more profound inspiration that sparks innovation."
