US PREP Hosting National Conference in Dallas, Texas

EDUCATION LEADERS COLLABORATE FOR INDUSTRY TRANSFORMATION

Dallas, TX, April 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- US PREP National Center – A coalition of innovative universities from across the country with a vision to prepare tomorrow’s teachers to meet the needs of today’s classrooms – announced the details of its highly anticipated National Conference.

The coalition, who is passionately committed to real, sustainable change in the country’s education system, usually meets at hosting universities for semi-annual convenings to review coalition data and share successes of programmatic changes impacting the classroom. For the first time, US PREP decided to gather in Dallas this June (11 -13th) and invite leaders from outside the coalition to broaden the collaborative reach and impact among education influencers sharing in the transformative work.

The conference is open to all teacher educators, university/school district administrators, and related non-profit organizations. Participants will have the option to select from a variety of transformative sessions taught by industry leaders and influencers.

“US PREP was built on collaboration, and we couldn’t be more excited to share resources, experiences, and relevant research related to transforming our teacher preparation programs,” noted US PREP Executive Director Sarah Beal. “Improving our K-12 schools begins with highly prepared teachers. Our coalition of university and district partners is challenging the status quo daily – and it’s working.”

Committed to tackling the most pressing challenges in today's education systems to ensure that every child has a well-prepared, high-quality teacher from day one, US PREP and its partners cultivate a success-driven model of preparing teachers for diverse teaching experiences. The emphasis on building strong district partnerships where teacher candidates gain invaluable real-world experience while under the tutelage of highly effective mentor teachers and supported by site coordinators, district partners, and university professors has shown measurable results in teacher success and retention.
