TheRecover.com, ADHD and Adderall Abuse Among Adults

SAN DIEGO, May 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tellman Knudson and Stephanie Frank, ADD/ADHD experts when we came up with the ADHD Axioms, do you think we sat down and said, “All right, let’s brainstorm for the next five hours and let’s write up everything that we possibly can about every single one of these Axioms”? No way! We probably would have fallen asleep.

The way you do it is to brainstorm for maybe about half an hour with another person that’s good at brainstorming, preferably another ADHD-type personality whom you are working with on the project, so they’re invested in the project.

You brainstorm with them for 20 minutes, half an hour, using your ADHD brains at high speeds, in order to come up with the structure, the concepts, and the ideas behind what you’re doing and what you’re going to be covered in whatever project or skill you’re working on or developing.

It really can be almost anything. When you do it in this manner, you’re able to come up with ten times the ideas and have someone to bounce those off of immediately, as they come out of your mouth, versus if you’re sitting down at the computer trying to brainstorm the whole thing yourself.

It’s really important as the ADHD brain works so fast. You’ve got to have someone, who also has ADHD, to think with, who thinks as fast as you do, so that you can throw it out there, unedited. It doesn’t matter, and the person’s not trying to assimilate everything.

I know several times, we’ve talked about having struggles in communications with different types of thinkers. In this case, when you want to get it fast, you want to be consistent, it has to be another person who can think as fast as you. Usually, that’s going to be someone with ADHD.

That’s very, very important. You don’t want to be brainstorming with a super-linear, super-analytical, non-ADHD thinker who’s going to shoot down your ideas while you’re brainstorming them. That’ll destroy you. You need to focus on someone who’s good at brainstorming and someone who’s creative at the same time.

Find an ADHD buddy to bounce your ideas off of, and you’ll be amazed at what you can come up with.

Adderall has been prescribed to people with ADHD and oftentimes this drug is abused. If adderall abuse is present on someone you know don’t hesitate to call a drug addiction counselor at TheRecover.com to know how to help that someone.
