Brick Brewing Announces Brand Licensing Agreement for Chudleigh's Orchard Cider.

KITCHENER, ON, May 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Highlights:

  • Chudleigh’s Orchard Cider is made in the farmhouse style. It’s a real cider, the way cider was meant to be. Real juice from 100% Canadian apples. All goodness, no gimmicks.
  • Chudleigh’s Orchard Cider is a licensing agreement for the Canadian rights to the Chudleigh’s cider brand. The agreement is for an initial ten-year term, with provision for further extensions, bringing together the best of two great Southwestern Ontario companies.
  • Since 1967, Chudleigh’s Apple Farm in Milton, Ontario has been giving people a taste of the country life; a taste people can now enjoy in this farm fresh orchard cider.

Brick Brewing Co. Limited (“Brick” or the “Company”) (TSX: BRB), Ontario’s largest Canadian-owned brewery, today announced the introduction of Chudleigh’s Orchard Cider.

“We are so thrilled to be working in partnership with our neighbours at Chudleigh’s” said George Croft, President and CEO, Waterloo Brewing. “Most everyone who lives in Southern Ontario either knows or has visited the incredible Chudleigh’s family farm in Milton, Ontario - which is just a stone’s throw from our brewery in Kitchener-Waterloo. The feeling you get from that farm is what we wanted to be true to in this Orchard Cider. Something real. Goodness you can taste. A cider that brings friends and family together. This partnership fits perfectly with our strategic direction, allowing us to further utilize our leading-edge manufacturing capability and available capacity, while building our branded volume business.”

“We couldn’t be happier to lend our name to this great product idea,” said Joel Chudleigh. “Chudleigh’s Farm has always been a place where people can get together and put life on pause for a little while. Chudleigh’s Orchard Cider lets the grownups in the family bring that feeling home, complete with the fresh taste of Canadian apples.” Celebrating its 50th year as a summer and fall destination for families throughout the GTA and Southwestern Ontario, Chudleigh’s Farm inspired Waterloo Brewing with its blend of wholesome farm life and quirky good humour, and the results earned the Chudleigh’s stamp of approval. “It’s the best cider around,” said Tom Chudleigh, “and we know a thing or two about apples”.
“There are already plenty of ciders available in Ontario, but there is nothing quite like this finely crafted Chudleigh’s Orchard Cider,” continued Croft. “We start and finish with the juice from 100% Canadian apples, plain and simple. It has a hint of apple sweetness and it’s unfiltered to give it that taste of the country life. Hopefully, people enjoy drinking it as much as we did making it.”

Chudleigh’s Orchard cider is available at selected LCBO and grocery stores throughout Ontario.
