Atlanta Chiropractor Stretches Acting Muscles in "Love Is_" Series

ATLANTA, May 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In an unusual twist on the dual career story, Atlanta chiropractor, Dr. Jared Simon has been freeing patients from pain at his Century Center Chiropractic since 1992 while also pursuing an acting career. His latest acting credit will be in the “Love Is_” television series, which is already in filming to air on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network.

Dr. Simon is a licensed chiropractor who currently serves the greater Atlanta, Georgia community, but he first started out to be an actor. He enjoyed a successful theater career which included the Broadway production of “An Enemy of the People” with Roy Dotrice, but suffered an injury while performing in a play. That is when he first learned about the wonders of chiropractic care. Although he loved the world of acting, he decided that he also wanted to pursue a career in health care where he could make a true difference in people’s lives.

While helping patients find relief from stress and pain through all-natural, holistic means, the doctor continued to perform in local theater, became known as a back pain expert for WGST radio, appeared on NBC TV's "Peachtree Morning" program, and served as the official chiropractor for performing arts organizations such as the Atlanta Equity Actors Union and Atlanta Screen Actors Guild. As his two career paths merged, he treated hundreds of actors from television, movies and the stage, and founded the Atlanta Actors Healthnet, which is an ongoing program made up of various physicians that deal with the special health needs of local performing artists.

All this exposure led to his being cast in the hour-long dramedy, “Love Is_.” The series, currently in filming, is scheduled to air on the OWN network beginning in 2018. The brainchild of powerhouse Hollywood couple, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, “Love Is _” is loosely based on their real life adventures on the road to fame and fortune. Some of the couple’s past projects include the UPN comedy series Girlfriends and its spin-off The Game, as well as the BET drama series Being Mary Jane and Black Lightning on The CW.

“I love combining my two careers and look forward to being involved with this series,” commented Dr. Simon. “Whether I am working with Hollywood stars such as Cee Lo Green or Atlanta residents who need relief from stress, or are suffering pain from an auto accident or sports injury, I provide chiropractic care and wellness advice that helps make their lives healthier and more pain-free.”
