EDISON, N.J., May 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters will join more than a dozen labor industry partners at Construction Industry Career Day (CICD) on Tuesday, May 29TH and Wednesday, May 30TH. The event is being held at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center (97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison). CICD is open to the public from 4-8 p.m. on May 29. On May 30, the “Just Juniors” event is open to high school juniors and educators who have registered to attend. “Just Juniors” is now filled to capacity with more than 2,000 students registered.
The two-day event will bring together trade union representatives throughout New Jersey to provide information to students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and job seekers about starting a rewarding career in the construction industry. Last year, the “Just Juniors” event was attended by approximately 1,500 students from dozens of school districts across the state from Atlantic County to Warren County.
“Construction Industry Career Day gives high school students more information about what it’s like to work in the construction industry,” said Ridgeley Hutchinson, Executive Director of the Northeast Carpenters Apprentice Training and Educational Fund. “A career in the building trades is a good one and provides individuals the opportunity to make a good wage and secure great health and retirement benefits with ZERO college debt.”
