TROVE Deepens Commitment to Data Security, Appoints Jennifer A. Beckage, Esq., CIPP/US, to Board

Data Security Leader Joins TROVE Board as Company Works to Make Data Safer, More Useful for Clients; CTO Adam Stotz to Address Data Security at EEI’s Annual Convention

BUFFALO, N.Y. , June 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TROVE, the predictive data science company, today announced the appointment of Jennifer A. Beckage to its board of directors. Beckage, a Buffalo-based attorney at Phillips Lytle LLP, and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), leads the firm’s Data Security & Privacy Team and is nationally recognized for her expertise in data security law. Her practice focuses on the nexus of cybersecurity, data breach litigation, risk management, privacy, regulatory law and law enforcement. Beckage is a previous business owner of a technology company, which was later acquired by a publicly traded company.

Beckage joins the TROVE Board as Facebook’s recent revelations of customer-data misuse and a new era of data privacy law being issued in by GDPR have increased scrutiny of data security practices among TROVE’s clients. TROVE has been well served by its roots working with the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence agencies and, with the appointment of Beckage, is doubling down on its data security capabilities as it deepens its predictive data science partnerships in data-intensive industries.

Today’s announcement comes as Adam Stotz, Chief Technology Officer at TROVE, prepares to present on data security this week at the Edison Electric Institute’s Annual Convention, a gathering of the electric industries’ top executives, thought leaders, and solution providers. As the architect of TROVE’s predictive data science platform and Solversä, Stotz helps the company’s utility clients safeguard consumer data while leveraging it within data science initiatives to improve service levels, efficiency, and adoption of products and services. The art and science of making data useful while keeping it secure will be central to his discussion.

“As more and more of our clients’ attention turns to safeguarding data, especially that of their customers, it’s important for TROVE to underscore its ongoing commitment to data security. The addition of Jennifer Beckage to our Board does just that,” said Ted Schultz, CEO of TROVE. "Jennifer’s knowledge bank will be a tremendous asset to our Board and company, as she shares her vast working experience of data security and data privacy law. We will also benefit from her firsthand experience guiding a technology startup to a successful exit.”

Beckage joins fellow lawyer Joe Mattoon, Chief Legal Officer of CLEAResult, on the TROVE Board, whose appointment was announced last month.
